From the ambiance and patio dining right on the water, to the flavorful, well-presented food and attentive wait staff, dining at Back Bay Bistro is truly a treat. Their new spring menu has enough items to suit adventurous grazers as well the local’s cravings for old classics, even though some may have been reinvented, refreshed, or replaced.

To begin your dining experience, you may want to start with a soup. The delicious, Bistro French Onion soup comes in a little pot that’s oozing with melted cheese.

You can’t go wrong with the trio of grilled Baja Fish Tacos for your main course. You will find grilled white fish, cabbage, avocado, and lime tucked inside corn tortillas and accompanied with a cilantro slaw that is so good, you’ll think you’re in Baja.

Two new sandwiches you won’t want to miss are the Bistro Parisian Chicken, in which a grilled chicken breast is nestled on a brioche bun with an heirloom tomato, brie cheese, bacon, arugula, and enhanced with a ranch aioli – bon appétit! The Bistro Santa Fe Turkey is tastily matched with toasted sourdough bread, avocado, jack cheese, and fire-roasted Ortega chilies. It couldn’t taste any better unless united with an imported bottle of beer.

If you’re a beef lover, you’ll enjoy the braised Short Ribs, which are served on a bed of mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach, surrounded by slightly sweet baby carrots. Its tantalizing gravy highlights this flavorful dish. It is also a larger portion than many other restaurants serve.

For lighter fare, there are many new farm-to-table salads to choose from, including the Bistro Steak Salad that beams with pan seared steak, romaine lettuce, and feta cheese, all glistening with a dijon mustard infused olive oil dressing. The Calamari Salad boasts mesclun greens, married with tomatoes, olives, bell peppers, cured Calamari steak, pickled onions, and capers for a celebration of your taste buds.  The Bistro Antipasto salad will have you reminiscing of Italy with its romaine lettuce, Italian cured meats, pepperoncini, a rainbow of peppers, olives, tomatoes, and mozzarella.

There are so many decadent desserts on the menu, you may end up sharing several of them. Two popular items are the creamy Cheesecake with a scrumptious crust and raspberry sauce, and the Chocolate Lava Cake that is rich, moist, and chocolaty – a must for chocoholics.

The view, ambiance, impeccable service, and delicious new menu all contribute to a favorable dining experience.
