For Orange County locals, the mention of fish tacos or fresh seafood fare brings one particular name to mind: Bear Flag Fish Company. What started as a small, hidden gem off of Newport Boulevard in 2007 has quickly grown to become a household name to locals and visitors alike. With its roots in Newport Beach on Lido Island and in the Crystal Cove Promenade, Bear Flag has extended its branches into another Orange County beach city: Huntington Beach. Now open at Pacific City, fresh and accessible Bear Flag beach eats don’t have to stop at the city line of Newport Beach.

The Pacific City location boasts a fresh fish market, restaurant, sushi bar and full bar. Opened on June 25 of this year, Bear Flag has had just a few weeks to get acclimated but is already making a big splash—especially with their incredible view of the ocean, patio and fire pit! Pacific City Bear Flag Manager, Candee Hom, shared that they “are excited to gain some new customers that will hopefully be loyal regular customers that frequent our new location as much as our great clientele that go to our other locations.”

Make sure to enjoy their fresh Ahi Poke, which Candee says is “always a hit and a big seller, ” a delicious salmon and vegetable plate, or panko-crusted fish tacos with their legendary house sauce. Pair any of their menu items with a refreshing brew or coconut water straight from the source and you will soon see why Bear Flag Fish Co. is the fan favorite it has come to be.
