Everyone is ready for the seemingly endless lineup of festivals and events that are coming our way. Thousands look forward to what Del Mar has to offer fans all summer long and this year is no exception. Keep reading and mark your calendars.

Del Mar Summer Concert Series

Free concerts with paid racetrack admission ($6 for Stretch Run, $10 for Clubhouse and $20 for concert-only access) will be spanning all genres, from folk rock to EDM with big names like Steve Aoki, Steel Pulse, Slightly Stoopid and Billy Currington. Beginning shortly after the last race, concerts will take place on the Seaside Stage at the west end of the Grandstand. Be sure to bring comfortable shoes as each concert is standing room only.

Opening Day

On July 19, gates open at 11:30 a.m., with the first race at 2 p.m. Tickets start at $15, and with over 40,000 fans from all across the country expected to attend, this is sure to be one summer party you won’t want to miss. Step up your experience and join “The Party,” giving you access to gourmet food trucks, prize giveaways, the Red Bull Tour Bus featuring top DJ’s and more, all for $35 per person and includes the Stretch Run Admission.

Food Truck Festival

Rolling in on July 29, enjoy food truck fare free with racetrack admission. With over 40 gourmet food trucks all in one location, foodies can sample some of the best in Southern California without breaking the bank (most dishes cost around $6-$10). Taking place in the Seaside concert area, the toughest decision you’ll be making is what to eat next.

$1 Million Pacific Classic With Beach Towel Giveaway

On Aug. 19, watch some of the country’s top horses compete in the 27th running of Del Mar’s signature event covering a distance of one and a quarter miles. This is Del Mar’s richest and most prestigious race.

BBQ State Championship

Over 30 of the nation’s top BBQ Pitmasters, local restaurants and chefs compete on Aug. 20 for over $15,000 in cash prizes while, lucky for you, selling samples to the public. Admission is included in the track admission and is held in the Seaside concert area west of the Grandstand. Just remember to grab extra napkins!

Craft Beer Fest

If it’s one thing San Diegans know and love, it’s craft beer. With over 100 brews represented, including hard to find and top rated favorites, even the most discerning connoisseurs will be satisfied. Admission into the Beer Fest area is free with the track admission on Aug. 26, and a set of five, seven ounce tastings can be purchased for $20 as DJ’s provide the day’s soundtrack.

Tacotopia at the Track

On Sept. 3, over 40 of the best restaurants and food trucks from San Diego, Tijuana and Los Angeles compete for your vote for “Best Taco.” What better way to follow up Craft Beer Fest than with one of San Diego’s most loved dishes?

Watch and Learn: During the summer season every Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., fans can watch morning workouts while enjoying breakfast in the Clubhouse Terrace Restaurant.

Smooth Ride: Planning on taking the train and leaving the traffic jam behind? Del Mar provides complimentary shuttle service from Solana Beach Station to and from the track.

Dance the Night Away: The Concert Series has a serious lineup: Tribal Seeds (7/21), Violent Femmes (7/28), Eagles of Death Metal (8/4), Steel Pulse (8/18), The Revivalists (9/1), Billy Currington “Country Fest” (8/5), Slightly Stoopid (8/26), and Steve Aoki (9/3).
