Sushi making is an art. Executive Sushi Chef Engin Onural proves this on a daily basis with the masterpieces that emerge from his kitchen at Venue Sushi Bar & Sake Lounge. It truly is a treat for him to share his knowledge with his honored guests. The workshop Chef Engin offers, titled “Art of Sushi Making 101, ” promises to teach students the basics so they are enabled to create their own sushi at home. These basics include: tools needed, the proper way to cook rice and preparation of classic rolls. The best part? After the workshop has concluded, everyone gets to enjoy the sushi they made, a side of miso soup and a bubbly glass of champagne. Seating is limited, so sign up now!

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

Have you ever wanted to dine 8, 516 feet in the air? Well, you’re going to have to take an unconventional form of transportation to get there. The world’s largest rotating tramcar—the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway—travels almost two miles along the stunning passages of Chino Canyon. With ten minutes to take in the view, the tramcar spins slowly, allowing for a 360-degree perspective. After arriving at the top, that’s where the true adventure begins. Choose from one of the three restaurants available at the top of the tramway, hike one of the historical trails, set up camp at a cozy site or simply stroll on a peaceful nature walk.

5 Hiking Trails Atop the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

  1. Long Valley Discovery Trail: An easy level trail only a ¾ mile loop that allows for a fun introduction to the plants and animals of the mountains.
  2. Desert View Trail: A one-and-a-half-mile loop of scenic forest views with a little bit of a climb to work the legs.
  3. Round Valley: A two-and-a-half-mile trail with fairly level paths and short climbs leading to the gorgeous Round Valley.
  4. Wellman’s Divide: The view at Wellman’s Divide after the one-mile hike from Round Valley is breathtaking. The dome of the Palomar Observatory is visible, but the hike may be strenuous for beginners.
  5. San Jacinto Peak: This 5.5-mile hike will take you to the second highest point in Southern California.
