Tony Award and Emmy-winning musical actress, Kristin Chenoweth, will be starring at Segerstrom Hall in the magnificent Segerstrom Center for the Arts for one night only on March 12th at 7:30 p.m. Backed by a five piece rhythm band, the stunning and renowned Broadway and television star will perform a compilation of songs from stage, film, and also music from her new album. With a smile as wide as Oklahoma (her home state) and a resume that spans film, TV, voiceover, and stage, it may be difficult to believe that this Popular veteran performer could be discovering any new firsts in the entertainment industry; however, in addition to enjoying some of the great familiar music of our time, Chenoweth’s audience will be listening to songs from her first live album, Coming Home. She once said, “I’m known for musical theater, but I grew up with country and gospel, and I’ve always loved standards and operas. So, I figured that this live album would be a good chance to show people the different things that influenced me and the different things I can do.”

The question that comes to mind is: “What can’t she do?” Chenoweth received an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in the ABC series Pushing Daisies. On the Fox hit TV show Glee she brought a whole new storyline to the show as the former student and quirky ex-songstress April Rhodes, and she was nominated for two Emmy Awards and a People’s Choice Award in the category of “Favorite TV Guest Star.” She has been a regular on hit shows such as The West Wing, but Chenoweth put her own magic wand on one of Broadway’s most beloved musical ever, the smash hit Wicked where she portrayed Glinda the Good Witch earning her a Tony Award nomination. Her Tony Award winning performance as Sally in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown not only stole every scene she was in but also the hearts of the audience. She recently made a return to Broadway portraying Lily Garland, the glamorous film star, in the Roundabout Theater Company’s On the Twentieth Century. Her performance as Lily earned her the Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award and Broadway.com Audience Choice Award. With close to a few dozen theater credits under her belt, theater is a place she feels at home; however, this prolific  performer has appeared in just about as many movies such as Bewitched and The Pink Panther.

Chenoweth is a veteran of the concert stage, and she has performed to sold out crowds spanning the globe from Australia’s Adelaide Cabaret Festival and the Sydney Opera House to the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic to New York’s Lincoln Center, and more. She has a star on the Walk of Fame, a soprano voice that defies gravity and a passion for her philanthropic service to society.
