Gathering around a table with good friends, enjoying incredible food and taking in splendid views—this is exactly what Two Farmtables And A Microphone (2FTAM) aims to create with their experiential dinner series. 2FTAM Co-Founder and Chef, Lan Thai, immigrated from Southeast Asia, where she grew up on a farm, to America as a refugee. With her background in the flavors of Vietnam, Thai specializes in Californian and Asian fusion cuisine, creating a unique palette for diners.

“I’m excited to share my culture and roots in Southeast Asian cuisine to new communities. Everyone eats and I want to be able to connect people from all backgrounds of the world to the source of their foods on how it’s grown, cooked and shared,” said Thai in a press release.

The 2FTAM dinner series debuted this past May in Haleiwa, HI, with dates throughout the summer in Southern California. This includes the two events held at Huntington Beach’s SeaLegs at the Beach, located just steps away from the sand. Each dining experience is held at venues that offer breathtaking views, and guests are served transparently-sourced farm fresh dinners that complement the location. If a beautiful sunset and delectable food don’t tickle your fancy, each event features diverse guest speakers from the entertainment and technology industry, as well as thought-leaders covering topics in culture.

The series aims to stimulate not only your palette, but also your mind with thought provoking conversations.

“…2FTAM aims to ignite conversations and create a memorable experience beyond dinner, feeding the mind and elevating the senses,” said Co-Founder Mark Sperling in a press release.

The first 2FTAM event in Huntington Beach will take place on June 22 from 6-9:30 p.m. with riCardo Crespo, COO of th13teen speaking on the importance of projecting your values. The second and last event in Huntington Beach before 2FTAM moves on to its next Southern California destination, is happening on July 20, with Alana Jane Nichols, a three-time Paralympic gold medalist. Dinner and wine/beer pairing tickets are $50, and if you’d like to only hear the speaker and sip on wine and beer, tickets are $25.
