dinelbc.com

It is quite a delicious time of year in Long Beach with restaurant week just around the corner. Experience prix fixe menus at restaurants that you’ve been dying to try, but for one reason or another, you haven’t pulled the trigger. Local foodies rejoice while their palates get to play at a variety of restaurants. Your kitchen will thank you for keeping it so clean for the next two weeks while you dine from one location to the next. You’ve probably been preparing for this, but I think it is safe to say there is no way you could get to every one of the restaurants participating, so choose wisely. We’ve narrowed it down to a few of our favorites that we are sure you will enjoy.

The Attic on Broadway

If you’re an LBC local, you’ve probably ordered poutine made with hand-cut fries, topped with braised short rib, caramelized onions, mozzarella cheese curds, red wine demi-glaze and topped with green onions. You’ve taken selfies with your loaded mac and cheese, and built more Bloody Mary’s than you can count. Come dine with them during restaurant week so you are forced to try something different with their artfully crafted prix fixe menu. Stay tuned as they finalize the details. Overall, expect food that is southern with dashes of creole and cajun.

Simmzy’s

Enjoy amazing eats in of one of the all-time fave places to drink beer in Long Beach. At $30 per person, you get to dine on a three-course meal. Approach it like a Goosebumps novel, where you get to pick your adventure! Start with your first challenge, picking between firecracker shrimp, caramelized brussels sprouts, or poke with crispy rice. Follow up with an even harder decision to make, choosing between the chicken apple walnut salad, fish tacos or the grilled flank steak. With only two options for dessert, you could convince your date to order the s’mores pudding so you can order the strawberry rhubarb crisp. This way, you get to enjoy both desserts … if your date is willing to share. Epic win!
