Walking into GuacAmigos means walking into vacation mode. The Mexican restaurant sits right on the Newport Harbor. As you walk through the slightly elevated front entrance, the sight of the ocean blue, gliding boats and occasional paddleboarders will have you wondering why this isn’t exactly where you’ve been all day. The open-layout, window-filled design means there is not a single bad seat in the house. If you’re not sold already, here are five reasons why GuacAmigos is exactly where we want to be when it’s time to dine.
1 | Fresh Food Soothes the Hunger Mood GuacAmigos
Tacos, enchiladas, nachos, chimichangas—it’s all here and fresh. Speaking of, the custom tableside guacamole experience is single-handedly enough to make this a regular spot for you and your loved ones. General Manager Zac Curtis is also a fan of the production. “We have a push-cart that rolls up to your table. We mash up the fresh avocados right before your eyes, mix in some seasonings, veggies, pineapple, chili powder—completely made-to-order. Our customers enjoy putting their own twist on it. Some like it spicy, some don’t, some like seasonings, some don’t. It’s a fun experience!”

2 | Did You Say, ‘Margaritas’? GuacAmigos
This is where tequila meets the sand. And by tequila, we mean only the finest of tequilas. Curtis also takes pride in the quality of the ingredients behind the bar. “We only serve the good stuff. You won’t find any ‘well’ liquor in our drinks. Our house margarita is a Cadillac Margarita, and any other drink you order from the bar is top shelf.”
Native Knowledge: If you enjoy a nice kick with your house margarita, ask your server for the habanero-infused tequila.

Located on the Pacific Coast Highway and backed up onto the Newport Harbor, ocean and palm trees are what you see while dining at GuacAmigos, no matter which direction you turn your head. What more is there to say? It’s the height of luxury before you even get to your table.

Smack dab in the middle of the open floor plan is the beautiful bar top that comes with panoramic Newport Beach views. Corner-crammed bars are out of style; from this bar top, you can literally feel the ocean breeze.
