National Beer Day is Upon Us, San Diego!

Written By: Luis Lobo April 7th is a Time to Celebrate … Beer!

If there’s one thing San Diego is king of, it’s a stellar selection of breweries. It should be no surprise that National Beer Day, April 7th, is one of the best days to celebrate in this city. What is National Beer Day? As you know, there was a dark period of time during this nation’s history when booze was banned to all the masses, which led to the rise of some unsavory characters—but let’s not get into that. We’re here to celebrate one thing: places that serve great beer.

Carnitas Snack Shack

Let’s face it, you’ve probably set your mind on an afternoon filled with beer; let’s make sure you don’t go completely off the deep end by getting some good food in your stomach. They also serve beer so Carnitas Snack Shack won’t leave you high and dry, but once you get a taste of your fantastic food you might forget what your plans for the rest of the day were. The Triple Threat Pork Sandwich is a fan favorite that is sure to satisfy your taste buds and give you enough of a full stomach to take on the drinking you’ll be doing the rest of the night. The pork sandwich may be great but be sure to give the rest of the menu a looksee; you never know what might catch your eye. Go ahead and add a beer to your order, you won’t be driving yourself around today anyway.

Truckstop

If you have the luxury to start drinking before the Truckstop closes for the day, then you need to check it out. While Truckstop closes at 3 p.m., it will have its doors open at 7 a.m., so if you feel like breakfast might be more your style, then come on in and enjoy a hearty breakfast—and breakfast beer (there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a beer for breakfast). They start their lunch menu at 12 p.m. every day, too. So if you’re nursing a New Beer’s Eve hangover, the Truckstop will bless you with brews and bites until 3 p.m.

The bartenders are great, the food is great, and the alcohol is great; what more do you need?
