The holidays are right around the corner, and can we all just give an amen to that? This year is in desperate need of some holiday cheer—we are in agreement! 2020 may be different from any other year we have experienced, but the beautiful Bella Terra shopping center in Huntington Beach is ready to kickoff the holiday season and will be doing so starting Nov. 20! Here are six ways you can jump-start your holiday season at this open-air entertainment plaza in beautiful Huntington Beach.

1 | Here Comes Santa Claus

Get ready for that old giddy feeling you used to get as a kid when you saw Santa and Mrs. Claus for the first time each season! Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus start Nov. 20 and will continue most days up until Christmas. Photo opportunities will be socially distanced, as families will get the chance to sit on present boxes in front of Santa’s sleigh, which is where he and the Mrs. will be sitting.

2 | Queue the Carols!  Festive Holiday Events

What’s next on the agenda? Carols, of course! Starting Nov. 27 from 5:30-6:30 p.m., grab a hot cocoa from Peet’s Coffee and sit on the green to sip and listen to your favorite carols. Prefer your carols to be sung live? Well, you’re in luck! Classic Christmas carolers will be roaming throughout Bella Terra from 6:30-8:30 p.m. In addition to carols, be sure to check Bella Terra’s schedule of events, as there will be live holiday music on the green by various performers throughout the season.

3 | Let it Snow Festive Holiday Events

There is nothing quite as magical as a snowfall, especially here in SoCal where so few have actually experienced one. Starting Nov. 27, Bella Terra will have a magical snowfall every half hour from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in three different locations around the center. It wouldn’t be the holidays without snow falling at the beach!

4 | Letters to Santa Festive Holiday Events

Have you written your letter to Santa yet? Drop off your letter into Santa’s Mailbox by Sunday each week each until 8 p.m. starting Nov. 29, and Kris Kringle and Mrs. Claus will read each letter live on Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m. via Bella Terra’s Facebook!

5 | Classic Characters

We have all come to love the characters from our favorite holiday movies, such as the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who, Jack Skellington, Sally and—of course—Buddy and Jovie from Elf! This year, you can watch them come to life! Each weekend starting Nov. 28, a pair of your favorite holiday characters will visit Bella Terra from 1-3 p.m.!

6 | Make a List, Check it Twice

While you’re at Bella Terra getting into the holiday spirit, you can get your Christmas shopping done! There is a store for everyone on your list, from clothing shops like Old Navy, Kohl’s and Burlington Coat Factory to stores like REI, various salons, Barnes and Noble, Bed Bath and Beyond and even Costco! It is a one-stop shop for all of your holiday needs. And when you’re ready for a bite to eat, you can take a shopping break and dine at one of the 20 restaurants and eateries at Bella Terra!
