For some of the best margaritas in town, head to Descanso in Costa Mesa, a modern taqueria serving authentic Mexican flavors. The dishes are cooked and served on a traditional plancha while the cocktails are hand-crafted and made fresh. Don’t leave Descanso without ordering a refreshing margarita that pairs perfectly with their savory dishes.

Bad Hombre Best Margaritas Orange County

Ingredients: Herradura Reposado Tequila, pineapple juice, agave, lime juice, serranos, salt and pepper

For those who like a little spice, the Bad Hombre margarita is for you. One of the most popular drinks offered, this cocktail is made with Herradura Reposado Tequila, pineapple juice, agave, lime juice, serranos, salt and pepper. “It is actually made from our signature bottle of Double Barrel Reposado Tequila in which we traveled to Jalisco, Mexico to pick out the perfect Barrel at the Herradura Distillery,” says Descanso owner Rob Arellano. Pair the Bad Hombre with Mexi poke and pollo alambres for a combination you’ll keep coming back for.

Cucumber + Sal Best Margaritas Orange County

Ingredients: Cucumber El Tesoro, cilantro syrup, lime juice, cucumber ribbon and black salt

This sweet and simple margarita will satisfy all of your cocktail cravings. Made with cucumber El Tesoro, cilantro syrup, lime juice, a cucumber ribbon and black salt, it’s a refreshing and light option. Pair this cocktail with the mahi mahi tacos or agave glazed salmon.

While sticking to the classics is always a good decision, it never hurts to branch out and try something new. Two new specialty summer margaritas are offered at Descanso this year. Don’t go the entire summer without sipping on these delicious drinks.

Mi Corazon Best Margaritas Orange County

Ingredients: Villa One Blanco, “corazon” syrup, agave, lemon juice and an orange wheel

Summer flavors shine in the Mi Corazon margarita. This cocktail is created with Villa One Blanco Tequila, “corazon” syrup, agave, lemon juice and is garnished with an orange wheel. Enjoy shrimp ceviche and a crispy carnitas skillet as you sip the summer away.

Violeta

For a fruitier option, stick with the Violeta—a blueberry margarita. The Violeta is made with Patron Silver Tequila, Licor 43, lime juice, blueberry mint cordial, club soda and blueberries. The ensalada de cítricos and the tres quesos quesadilla pair nicely with this summertime drink.
