Breast Cancer Awareness Month is here, and it’s time to bust out every ounce of pink clothing you own and support these incredible women! From cycling to running and all things in between, Orange County has a bounty of incredible breast cancer awareness events just waiting for you to attend. With an entire month of extravaganzas planned, there’s no time to waste! Here are a few of the several events scheduled in OC—we hope to see you there!

 

Pink Saves at Outlets at San Clemente

When: All of October
Where: Outlets at San Clemente

Susan G. Komen Orange County is teaming up with Outlets at San Clemente for a month long fundraiser to take action against breast cancer. Events vary from sipping rosé at the Ribbons & Rosé Pink Saves Kickoff Party, to mini spa treatments and book readings at the Pink Saves VIP Survivors’ Lounge. With an ocean-front venue and more than enough ways to donate, this month-long celebration is the perfect way to show your support for all those affected by breast cancer.

Rosé All Day at Splashes

Where: Splashes

Pinkies up ladies, it’s rosé time! Laguna Beach’s very own Surf & Sand Resort’s Splashes is offering hand-selected rosé flights from renowned-sommelier, Ante Dapic. The flights include three, three ounce pours for $20 including some of the tastiest rosé around, some even making their way from the French regions! Don’t miss out on this fine opportunity to taste some of the best rosé around, and feel good about it knowing your contributions are saving lives! Making Strides of Orange County

When: Sunday, October 22, 8 a.m.
Where: Segerstrom Center for the Arts

Time to get out those walking shoes! The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a walking event ranging from three to five miles that raises funds for innovative research and information in regards to breast cancer. This event helps bring communities together in support and love for anyone who has been affected by breast cancer. With an opening ceremony and post-walk entertainment, it’s sure to be a day you won’t want to miss!

Two Wheels One Planet Breast Cancer Awareness Ride

When: Saturday, October 7, 9 a.m.
Where: Two Wheels One Planet Bicycle Store

Whether you’re a beginner to biking or a seasoned veteran, the Two Wheels One Planet Breast Cancer Awareness Ride is an event for all levels of expertise. The ride ranges anywhere from 10-25 miles, and all participants will receive refreshments both before and after the ride plus discounts on all things biking! With over 200 riders in 2016, including the UCI men’s basketball team, participants were able to raise $6,500. Don’t miss out on this incredible cause!

Valiant Women Annual Think Pink Breast Health Wall of Honor

When: The Whole Month of October
Where: The Shops at Mission Viejo

Going 15 years strong, the Valiant Women of Mission Hospital are partnering with The Shops at Mission Viejo to host the THINK PINK Breast Health Wall of Honor. Shoppers are encouraged to donate “honors” through tributes on the wall on behalf of anyone they know who has been touched by breast cancer or in remembrance of someone who has passed. These funds raise money for mammograms and diagnostic care for women in the community who are not able to afford it on their own. In 2016, the fundraiser raised more than $103,000! It’s time to take that to the next level so get on over to The Shops at Mission Viejo and let’s help save lives!

Native Knowledge: If you dine at Ruby’s Diner on Thursdays and Fridays or Blaze Pizza on Fridays at The Shops throughout October, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Wall of Honor.

Susan G. Komen OC Mobile Mammogram

When: Monday, October 2, 2-6 p.m.
Where: Northgate Gonzalez Market

When it comes to breast cancer awareness, the name Susan G. Komen immediately comes to mind. The Komen Foundation continues to shine, this year especially, by teaming up with Alinea Medical Imaging and the YWCA North County to provide free, yes free, mobile mammograms and breast exams! Sign-ups are a must but are worth it to make sure that the women of OC stay strong and healthy. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to save those tatas!

Native Knowledge: The Komen Foundation has funded more than $920 million in breast cancer research and is the largest non-profit organization to do so.
