The City of La Quinta is putting on an event that’s the first of its kind in the Valley. With the intention of attracting Millennials and Generation Xers, the City came up with a Beer Festival to end all Beer Festivals – the Brew in LQ Craft Beer Fest. But everyone is invited, of course! This event will speak to locals, as well as those from Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego.

The Festival will feature breweries from as far as Northern California, but there are some from right at home. One of the newest brewery in the Desert, La Quinta Brewing Co., will be there, as well as the Coachella Valley Brewing Co. out of Thousand Palms with their expertly crafted beer from quality locally grown ingredients. Desert favorite Babe’s Bar-B-Que and Brewhouse opened their doors 14 years ago and have worked their way up to 2015 California State Fair Brewery of the Year. They will also be in attendance at the festival.

From the populous city of Santa Ana comes The Good Beer Company where libations are aged in oak barrels. San Diego’s Thorn Street Brewery will bring the fruits of their seven barrel brewhouse, and Ritual Brewing Co. of Redlands produces packaged beer for distribution to restaurants, bars, and stores from their 23, 000 square-foot brewery housing a 30 barrel brewhouse. Golden Road Brewing of LA was founded by Meg Gill and Tony Yanow with the dream to bring fresh beer to the local markets in the most sustainable way possible. Now it has become a reality.

Fullerton’s Bootlegger’s Brewery is a small artisan brewery and is constantly providing fresh craft beer to its community. Mad River Brewing of Humboldt County gives you the Northern California experience every time you raise your glass. Just North of San Francisco, Ace Cider is lower calorie and gluten free in comparison to other alcoholic beverages are a refreshing alternative to beer. Towne Park Brew Co. of Orange County is one of the county’s newest microbreweries serving some of the finest West Coast American Ale Beers. Many more breweries will be in attendance!

This particular festival will not be short on music. Those Dvdes Thvt DJ aka TDTDJ, a DJ duo made up of Jonathan Jauregui and Jacob Valenzuela will share their music to festival goers. Known for their fun mix of Trap, Hip-Hop, House, and Dubstep music, they’re sure to bring something to dance to once the libations have kicked in. Valley favorite DJ Alf Alpha who played at Coachella will also be there, coming off his amazing set at Splash House as well. Lastly, DJ Vivid will be there to entertain the masses with his beats.

Beer always pairs well with great food, and the Brew in LQ Craft Beer Fest will have plenty of scrumptious snacks to enjoy. Stuft Pizza Bar & Grill will make an appearance with their amazing one-of-a-kind pizzas they’ve been serving for over 35 years. The always delectable Frankinbun are bringing their unique sausages to the Fest, allowing for the classic beer and a hotdog combo to take form. The Big Easy Sandwich will also show with their mission to satisfy hunger through their mix of New Orleans and California flavors.

The event will be held rain or shine at SilverRock Resort on Saturday, Oct. 22  from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. It is sure to be anything but a sore setting for the eyes. The vendors will be situated in a vast outdoor field of the resort with beautiful views of the Santa Rosa Mountains. As for how the tasting process will work: event goers will either purchase a General Admission wristband for $30 or a Designated Driver wristband for $10. General Admission will get you 10 4 oz. pours that you can select from the various breweries. Designated Drivers will be given 2 non-alcoholic drinks to choose from. It is sure to be an event enjoyed by seasoned beer aficionados as well as the everyday beer enthusiast.
