Dance the Night Away at the Tejano Music Festival Cathedral City Events October 12 The Big League Dreams Sports Park hosts the third annual Tejano Music Festival from 5 to 11 p.m. With a number of vendors offering food, drinks and raffles, this night will be a blast for the whole family. Remember the Dead at Día de los Muertos Cathedral City Events November 2 Photo by Alessandra Caretto on Unsplash Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a Mexican holiday that celebrates the lives of loved ones who have passed away. Traditionally, people create altars for their loved ones that are adorned with food, candles, flowers and more. Desert Memorial Park Cemetery will honor those who have passed with a special celebration that is open and free to the public. From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., guests can enjoy folkloric dancing, face painting, mariachi bands, food vendors and a community altar. The first 500 attendees will be treated to free pan de muerto—bread of the dead—which is a sweet bread baked in the shape of bones. It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane! No!
