Considering getting a little something done? Dr. Sanjay Grover, MD, FACS of Grover Aesthetics has the answers to questions that people are often too afraid to ask. He was recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Plastic Surgeons (2021) for breast augmentation, liposuction, facelift and rhinoplasty. Read on for his advice before you book a consultation, and remember, no question is too silly. Common Plastic Surgery Questions

1 | How can I achieve a natural result with my breast augmentation?

Implant type and placement are the keys to achieving your desired appearance. Silicone not only feels and looks softer than saline, it also holds shape better too. To further create a sloped look, Grover prefers the dual-plane approach instead of inserting implants entirely over or under pectorals. “[This] puts the implant partially under the muscle, which allows the implant to settle in a more natural position,” Grover explains.

2 | What is a hybrid breast augmentation?

A procedure that’s grown in popularity, a hybrid breast augmentation enlarges the breasts through both fat transfer and implants. “The breast implant is utilized for volume [while] fat is utilized to achieve enhanced cleavage,” says Dr. Grover. This creates a truly custom, personalized look as surgeons can balance the bust size and shape through careful and strategic fat graft placements.

3 | How can one achieve a natural facelift result?

Dr. Grover’s secret to a natural, rejuvenating facelift is through a “deep-plane” method that pulls the underlying muscles and avoids tugging skin too tightly. “[The facelift] does not put extra tension on the overlying skin,” says Dr. Grover. “This technique provides a much more natural result by repositioning the underlying droopy tissues back to their natural, youthful position.”

4 | Will I look too different if I have a rhinoplasty?

For those seeking a slight modification to their nose, the right surgeon can ensure that this feature is aesthetically balanced with the rest of the face. “Through reshaping and resculpting, patients can achieve a natural, more beautiful nose that is proportionate to their face,” remarks Dr. Grover. “Patients comment that they now have the nose they were meant to be born with.”

Common Plastic Surgery Questions

5 | What techniques does Dr. Grover utilize to achieve sculpted results for liposuction?

To yield great results, Dr. Grover combines his deep insight and precision with the latest technology. VASER Ultrasonic Liposuction and the Renuvion Helium Plasma Energy technique help to break up fat cells quickly and tighten up the skin. He also specializes in a 360 liposuction, which removes fat from the entire midsection. “Many patients undergo 360-degree liposuction so that their whole body is contoured and made proportionate,” says Dr. Grover.

6 | Do I need to have drains following a tummy tuck?

A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, removes excess skin, fat and stretch marks in the lower abdomen as well as “tightens” the rectus muscles or diastasis recti. Most plastic surgeons still utilize drainage tubes following a tummy tuck. However, Dr. Grover has utilized a drainless technique for the past ten years, which patients are quite fond of. Dr. Grover is able to eliminate the need for drains by reattaching the overlying skin flap to the underlying muscles with sutures which minimizes the chance for any fluid build-up.
