WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Written by: Gretchen Hackmann and Britt Hackmann

Are you one of those San Diegans who routinely questions what to do and where to eat, thus relying on friends or loved ones to make a decision for you? Do you then proceed to waste precious time arguing with them over what’s actually hot and what’s definitely not, thereby ending up at the same average place time after time? Fret not my friend, as you are not alone! The number of times that we have found ourselves wondering where to go is too large to surmise. That’s why we’ve created A Gal’s Guide To San Diego, full of boutique shopping, unique restaurants, extraordinary bar hangouts, some of the world’s most renowned hotels and extravagant activities this fall all in our very own neighborhood. You’ll now be able to discover our fabulous city starting with the very best recommendations from yours truly!

With specials going on throughout the week, PB Shore Club is where it’s at for great food and drinks in—not to mention only steps from the beach and all-encompassing of the chill, laid back Pacific Beach vibes. Though a large variety of tasty bites are offered, the Salmon Ciabatta is especially delicious with house sauce and avocado. And “All American Mondays” offer $5 baskets of wings starting at 4 PM and drink specials on all whiskeys and 16 oz. drafts starting at 8 PM. Can’t get out during the week? No problem! Begin the weekend on Friday night with “Sunset Fridays, ” offering $5 Jameson drinks and 16 oz. Kona Big Waves, all until 9 p.m.!

Cannonball

Located next door to the WaveHouse is San Diego’s largest beachfront rooftop with panoramic beach views. This newly renovated venue offers small plates and sushi—making for the perfect happy hour experience with your partner. The Enfuego oll makes a firey statement on  the menu with crab, avocado, torched seared salmon, and (hence the name) spicy aioli. If spicy isn’t your paradise, the Green Flash roll is a delicious go-to as well—with escolar, avocado, cucumber, asparagus, tuna, and ponzu.
