Editor’s Pick: 5 Happy Things to Look Forward to This Month

Mark Your Calendars! Here’s What’s in Store For the Coming Weeks

We’re a few weeks into the new year, and if you’re anything like me, your travel bug is itchin’ for adventure—you’re looking forward to the day when sitting inside a restaurant with friends is normal again. But for now, I’m taking it day by day. I’ve learned there’s always a bright side and something to look forward to. Here are five things I’m looking forward to these next few weeks, and at least one of them will hopefully put a smile on your face! Editor’s Picks

1 | Super Bowl LV Editor’s Picks

After a year of sports being rescheduled or canceled, it felt like a relief once football was back on TV a few months back. While I look forward to watching the Super Bowl (and the iconic commercials, obviously) every year, I’m somehow feeling grateful for it this year. I’ll be at home celebrating with these beer and app pairings.

2 | Vegan Ice Cream Editor’s Picks

Don’t knock it till you try it! Salt & Straw’s Vegandulgence menu launched at the beginning of January and is available until Feb. 4—and every flavor is delicious. From dairy-free peanut butter strawberry crumble to chocolate hazelnut cookies and cream, expect natural ingredients and decadent flavors. Head to your nearest Salt & Straw location or order local delivery.

3 | And Just Like That… Editor’s Picks

Okay, I’m not entirely sure when this dream-come-true reboot is taking place, but I am already patiently waiting for that day! If you haven’t heard, a Sex and the City revival is coming to HBO Max. It will star Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. In the meantime, catch me rewatching every season.

4 | New and Improved

Wild Goose’s latest expansion is not to be missed! The beloved restaurant on 17th St in Costa Mesa boasts a new outdoor patio, western saloon and even a game room. And opening in just a few weeks, is Hermosa Taqueria in Tustin. Get ready for flavorful Latin food with a twist!

5 | Outdoor Yoga

Ra Yoga is offering outdoor yoga classes in an outdoor, covered tent. The studio is following COVID protocols, and reservations must be made ahead of time. While Peloton rides at home and neighborhood walks are great, sometimes it’s nice to take a class and get your sweat on!
