An Exclusive First Look at the Newest Hotel in Newport Beach

Lido House is Coming in April and We Can’t Wait

If you’ve driven down Newport Blvd within the last several months, you’ve probably noticed a giant new building coming to fruition on the side of the road. If you’ve been curious about what it is or what it’s going to look like, we’ve got the inside scoop for you! Opening in late April, Lido House, a Cape Cod-style hotel modeled after Robert Olson’s (of RD Olson Construction) home, is the newest, and might we add most anticipated opening since Ho Sum Bistro

“We’re really going for a residential feel; trying to evoke the feeling of a 130-room home,” General Manager Adam Beer said. And evoke they have! When you walk inside one of the three-story cottages, each with their own unique design, you’ll instantly want to kick off your shoes and start binge-watching Netflix. With a barbecue on the roof and a flat-screen TV, you’ll never want to leave.

Olson, both the developer and owner of the construction company building the hotel, poured his heart and soul into its creation. Every last detail, even the brick, which he saw 32 samples of before he made a decision, was carefully thought out. Even the ceilings in the hallways of the hotel were painted by hand, and each red door leading to your oasis is modeled after Olson’s entry door at home.

Not only has the hotel gone above and beyond in detail, but Olson also wanted to focus on the Newport Beach community, “All the artwork and everything you see here will be about Newport Beach. It’ll feel like you’ve really arrived in Newport,” Olson said.

Now for the best part—Mayor’s Table, the top-notch dining experience inside of Lido House. From the exclusive Champagne Executive Chef Riley Huddleston created in France, to the Chef’s Table where guests can try an eight to 14-course tasting menu of potential new dishes, foodies best make their reservations as soon as the spot opens. “I’m really excited about our vegetables like beet carpaccio with artisan cream. It’s really simple, but in line with what we’re trying to do,” Huddleston said.

Mayor’s Table isn’t the only foodie-spot guests will be able to enjoy. Topside, the only rooftop bar in Newport Beach, will be Champagne-focused and will also serve caviar and small bites. With an unbeatable view of the sunset, this will be one spot you’ll keep coming back to. Guests and locals can also grab a cup of coffee, ice cream or gelato from their gelato case at Crew Coffee + Creamerie.

Whether you come to Lido House for a glass of bubbly and the sunset, or a vacation where every aspect of your stay has been curated for a good time, Olson, Beer, Huddleston and their team will make sure you’re treated like family.
