Living in Orange County, you quickly realize that the food culture is everything. Lucky for us, we have one of the coolest, and tastiest spots right in our backyard. Tustin is home to some amazing foodie hot-spots as well as The District at Tustin Legacy and Union Market Tustin, which are just a short walk away from where we live. We went and tried a few spots around Tustin to find the most creative dishes and drool-worthy items.

Snooze: an A.M. Eatery

There’s a reason why you see a line out the door every morning—Snooze has truly nailed the breakfast/lunch game. Our go-to is their ‘The Art of Hollandaise’ section where they offer six different types of eggs benedict. We like to order the Benny Duo, which gives us four different halves of Benny’s—the benefit from dining out with just the two of us.

The Kroft

Today we are taking a break from The Kroft’s incredible poutine to try one of their newer items, bread pudding. Continuing with that good ol’ comfort food, The Kroft created this dense and decadent treat to satisfy your sweet tooth after you enjoy something savory. With a crispy outside and perfectly moist inside, this dish will not disappoint.

Kettlebar

The pan roast at Kettlebar is the perfect dish for this time of the year. Served in a massive bowl, this hot dish combines all of our favorites in a delicious, comforting combination. A tomato cream base, snow crab, lobster, shrimp, chicken and rice. This will make your stomach very happy—it’s one of their most popular dishes for a reason.

The Hangar Bar

Located inside of Whole Foods, The Hangar Bar offers top-notch Cauliflower Nachos to make sure you don’t over shop on an empty stomach—we all know how shopping hungry goes. Fried to perfection and topped with all the goodies you would expect, these ‘nachos’ will meet your needs and allow you to feel less guilty about consuming them all by yourself.

Hatch

The Loco Moco at Hatch holds sentimental value for us because we consumed far too many servings of loco mocos on our honeymoon in Hawaii. Needless to say, we were thrilled to find out that Hatch served up their own version of it. The gravy and perfectly-cooked beef patty brought us right back to the Big Island.

Cubed

There may not be a shortage of poke spots in Southern California, but not all are created equal. Poke is one of our favorite things to eat because we can build it how we please! Cubed uses lots of light and healthy options for their bowls. In fact, when we’re feeling a little less health conscious, we go for that spam musubi, you’re welcome.

Zhou

Zhou offers lobster in 16 different ways! We liked the Deep Fried Hong Kong Style and Stir Fried with Bacon and Ham. You can also order it in porridge or soup, which was totally new to us. We recommend rounding up 16 of your friends and have everyone order the lobster so you can see what style you like best.

RA Sushi Bar & Japanese Restaurant

One of the reasons we like to come to RA Sushi is because of their ambiance and upscale feel. Two items we always seem to order are the poke tacos, which are basically kryptonite for us, and the Viva Las Vegas Roll. With rolled crab, cream cheese that’s lightly tempura battered and topped with spicy tuna, crab mix and sliced lotus root and finished with sweet eel sauce and green tempura bits. Game over.

Cream Pan

If you haven’t heard of Cream Pan you need to get out of whatever bubble you are in and stop by to try the Strawberry Cream Pan. We can literally snack on a dozen of these with our morning coffee and not realize how much we just consumed because each bite tastes so euphoric.

Hopdoddy Burger Bar

For those who follow our Instagram, you know by now that our favorite thing to consume is a nice juicy, cheesy burger. One of our favorite spots to devour burgers is at Hopdoddy. Order the Primetime Burger with brie cheese, arugula, caramelized onions, truffle aioli and steak sauce. With that, we have to get the Chile Con Queso with fries.

Freesoulcaffé

We love that Freesoulcaffé uses 100 percent natural, plant-based ingredients for all of their dishes that are prepared fresh each day! Our favorite thing to eat here is the Truffle Burger. Don’t let the ‘plant based’ title scare you; this burger is packed with flavor and is a must try.
