Hautè Sandwich Hut, the deli concept of Hautè Productions Events and Catering, offers a tasty array of dishes to satisfy your mid-day cravings. Described as a “secluded, private and personal” spot by Owner and Executive Chef Keith Prante, this sandwich hut is one of Laguna Hills’ hidden gems. Tucked away in The Row, a Laguna Hills shopping center popularly dubbed as “furniture row,” the upscale Hut offers delicious, convenient and high-quality food for you to enjoy.
The Laguna Hills location initially started as a kitchen space for Chef Prante’s Hautè Productions Events and Catering business. “When we got done with the buildout, we noticed we had a potential dining area for what I thought of, at the time, would be for ‘pop up’ dinners,” says Prante. His full-service catering company specializes in developing customizable menus to cater to clients’ wishes as well as providing excellent service for each of their events. Instead of just ‘pop up’ dinners, this potential dining area became the Hautè Sandwich Hut space after the chef noticed a lack of good food places in the neighborhood, and knew he could offer something better. “One day we saw an old food truck come through with their offbeat honk [and] it got our attention. The first thing I thought to myself was, ‘Is this the best they got around here?’ My dad asked me, ‘Could you open for lunch?’ [and] my reply was, ‘Yes,’” says Prante.
At Hautè Sandwich Hut, customers can conveniently dine in or carry out their lunches. “With all the mechanics and labor workers in my area I focused on a deli concept to make something quick and to-go,” says Prante. When creating the deli, he spent a lot of time focusing on the details to develop a lunch menu filled with savory entrees, beverages and sandwiches. The menu includes offerings such as the Peppered Tri-Tip French Dip; The Gobbler, a turkey sandwich with strawberry aioli, candied bacon and avocado; Pesto Crusted Salmon; and the Hautè Burger, a freshly ground patty with cheese, red wine pickled onions, lettuce, tomato and dijon aioli on a brioche bun. They also provide homemade sweet teas and juices to complement your meal.
