Monday
Tacos El Gordo, National City—the go-to place for real authentic tacos in San Diego. The line is always long, so don’t expect to sneak in there. But the food is worth the wait. Get the Adobada Tacos.
Tuesday
Fish tacos at Oscar’s for Taco Tuesday. There are no better seafood tacos in San Diego. Try the Surf & Turf Taco. Insider tip: order the flour tortillas for a dollar more and get more food than you can handle. Also, try their new agua frescas they have each day.
Wednesday
Bali Hai has great food and mai tais. Abide by their “two drink minimum” for the mai tais or you won’t make it to work on Thursday…unless that’s what you are going for.
Thursday
Thrusters Lounge because the weekend starts on Thursdays in San Diego. Stay for the specialty cocktails.
Friday
Turf Supper Club when you just need a good steak and don’t want someone else to make it for you. The food is always good, because you make it, and the drinks are strong AF.
Saturday
Single Fin Grill great place to escape all the crazy beach bars and rooftops. Sriracha Shrimp tacos are killer. A good place to watch a game, or four, and good beer on tap always.
Sunday
Firehouse Pacific Beach DJs and an ocean view. Always serving breakfast till 3 p.m., great music, and great drinks. Most of the industry kids end up here to kick off their weekend.
