Eat & Shop in Style at the SD Spot That Has it All

Written By: Nicole Fera How To Spend a Day at The Headquarters

Down by Seaport Village, along the beautiful San Diego Harbor, is the iconic Headquarters, where everything you need for a wonderful day or night is waiting to be discovered. The location, once San Diego’s police headquarters, has since been transformed into a shopping, dining and entertainment center that is immensely popular for foodies, fashion lovers and beyond. It is the perfect blend of historic and modern showcasing breathtaking architecture, an open air layout and an eclectic sense of history that somehow all feels brand new. We’re breaking down our favorite spots to visit here that will have you falling in love with San Diego all over again.

Get Your Grub On

Let’s kick off our journey through the Headquarters by checking out some of our favorite places to dine and get our drink on.

Puesto

Puesto is first up on our list and we couldn’t love this upscale street taco restaurant more if we tried. The atmosphere is open and inviting, much like the Headquarters itself, and it’s a great place to sit down with friends and family for a few drinks and some amazing food. Much like their first location in La Jolla, they have managed to bring the flavors and authenticity of Mexican street food to a bright, vibrant restaurant setting. If you think their taco making abilities are killer, you will want to see how they pair each one with a delicious margarita. Whether it’s Taco Tuesday … or Wednesday … or Thursday, you’re going to want to make this your first stop for dinner and drinks!

Native Knowledge: Our recommendation? Order the flight of three tacos and definitely make their lobster taco one of them!

Flour & Barley

If you’re just like us and always have room for more great food, you need to head over to Flour & Barley–Brick Oven Pizza for a variety of traditional pizzeria staples to choose from! Coming to us from Las Vegas, Flour & Barley has quickly become one of SD’s go-to places for a whole brick-oven pie, salads, entrees and more. With tons of different toppings and options to choose from, they’ll definitely have something for everyone on the menu, including a stiff cocktail and insanely great cannoli to finish the meal off. Don’t worry, you’re going to be walking around shopping—you’ll burn it off.

Gelato Paradiso

Gelato Paradiso will have you feeling like you’ve just hopped a plane to Italy to enjoy some of their finest gelato. Fortunately for us, the Headquarters is a lot closer and just as authentic. They pride themselves on using all natural ingredients to create bold, melt-in-your-mouth flavors.

Native Knowledge: If you are a fan of pistachio, search no more.
