It’s that time of year again—the 29th Annual Watch Fair is going down at Fashion Island on October 25-26, and you won’t want to miss the chance to save on a luxury timepiece. You can also peruse the latest models and meet with reps from some of the poshest brands in the business, like IWC, Chanel, Tag Heurer and Breiting. Just to get you excited, we’ve highlighted six pieces that are definitely worth the investment.
1 | Watch Yourself Luxury Watch Event
One of the stand-outs of the luxury Swiss brand’s collection, this model is skeletonized; that means that the watch face is transparent, displaying the intricate swirls of gears as well as delicate engraving and tiny gemstones speckled throughout. This version celebrates its 42nd anniversary this year and was recently released in an on-trend rose gold finish, with the official Patek Philippe logo embossed on the winding rotor.
Native Knowledge: For a piece like this, the engraving alone takes approximately 130 hours of work.
2 | Don’t Believe Me Just Watch Luxury Watch Event
As professional diving watches go, this sporty Swiss piece takes the cake. Coated in sleek, black Carbotech material, this piece is ultra-light with a smooth matte finish. Featuring a black band and face, light blue accents and 31 jewels, the model has a three-day power reserve and a black-coated Titanium case, making it the perfect excuse to finally take that dive trip to the Great Barrier Reef.
3 | Just in Time Luxury Watch Event
With its whimsical face design featuring a crescent moon among a starry array of constellations in the night sky, this model shines in pink gold and displays numerals only along the upper half of the perimeter (9:00 to 3:00). Accented with gold hands, a halo of diamonds and a black leather strap, the timepiece is one of the stars of this posh Swiss collection.
4 | Watch Out Now
This special edition piece is one of four in the celebrated Japanese brand’s Heritage Collection, each representing one of the four seasons. The Spring model features a pale pink face and a subtle design pattern which is meant to pay homage to the soft blossoms of Sakura season. It’s finished with sleek silver Titanium.
5 | Time After Time
Sporty and rugged in appearance, this timepiece is the love child of the Swiss powerhouse’s partnership with Norton, the classic British motorcycle brand. Framed by stainless steel, the dark face features stenciled numerals with a slight vintage feel, contrasted with a distressed brown leather strap. With two white inlaid subdials and the Norton logo printed on the caseback, this piece is designed for a true rider (or for those aspiring to look like one).
6 | Time Out
Paying tribute to the players of New Zealand’s heralded national rugby team, the All Blacks, this epic brand collaboration has birthed a limited edition collection of 1,181 pieces, representing each member who has played for the team since its inception in 1903. A new piece will be added for each new player that joins the World Cup team over the coming years. Featuring an all-black exterior, the steel case is coated in a matte black finish and is waterproof in up to 660 feet.
Native Knowledge: By attending the fair, you’ll have access to special event financing, live watch-master demonstrations, special gifts and an extended selection of new and limited edition watches.
