Bosscat Kitchen & Libations Slated to Open in Old Towne Orange
After 70 years, Rod’s Liquor, an Old Towne Orange staple, has closed its doors and made way for some new flavor. We know they’re going to have big shoes to fill, but if anyone can do it, it’s definitely Bosscat Kitchen & Libations.
Known for its intriguing menus and lively atmosphere, Bosscat has been a local’s hangout of choice in Newport Beach since 2014. From brunches and baby showers to dinners and date nights, this eatery is the ideal spot for nearly every occasion—and now it’s sharing the love with Old Towne.

Whenever we’ve visited the Newport location, it’s always been a good time. Bosscat offers chill lunchtime dining, intimate and cozy evenings and (our favorite) an over-the-top brunch! It’s exactly what the West Chapman branch of the Circle needs.

What to Eat
With Chef Peter Petro at the helm, Bosscat’s menu can only be described as if contemporary flavors had a lovechild with American comfort food—a very, very delicious lovechild.
Bosscat offers a tasty lunch and dinner menu from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Saturday dinner is available from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday dinner is available from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Its indulgent brunch menu is available Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You can also expect incredible drinks from Bosscat—after all, it’s in the name! As your honorary mimosa tasters, we can attest that Bosscat doesn’t skimp out on the bubbly, and we always recommend asking about the Whiskey of the Month and the Craft Cocktail of the Month.

If you’re a whiskey lover, you’re in luck: Bosscat boasts an impressive selection of over 300 bottles of domestic and imported whiskey. The eatery also offers whiskey lockers and a Whiskey Club, an exclusive program where members receive a bottle specially chosen by Bar Director Matt Sharp.
