Karaoke, Towers of Ahi and Incredible Hikes Are Calling Your Name! Here’s How to Spend Your Weekend in Palm Springs

Make Palm Springs Your Desert HQ and Explore This Sun-Loving Town

Hey, are you free this weekend? Perfect! Pack your bags and don’t forget that sunscreen because we’re headed for a Palm Springs getaway. We know a hip place to rest your head, some thrilling activities and some flavorful stops for you and your buds—the taste kind and the friend kind (that’s like all the buds!). So throw on those sunnies and let’s get things started.

Have you ever wanted to experience Palm Springs in the 1950s the way Sinatra and the rest of those hip swingin’ jazz cats did but without giving up our modern pleasures like Wi-Fi and giant flat screen TVs? Yeah us too, that’s why we think the Ace Hotel & Swim Club is just the place for you and the rest of your rat pack to hang around in for a few days.

Your suite at the Ace comes complete with rad retro furniture in your living room, a record player and your very own C.F. Martin & Co. acoustic guitar, in case you know how to play a few tunes. Once you’re finished doing your best (or worst) Elvis impression, go hit that soft, cushy, king size hay to get your all too important beautyrest—not that you need it or anything.

After grabbing some breakfast, let’s say a cappuccino paired with some hearty avocado toast from King’s Highway; you’ll be ready to hit the sunny streets of Palm Springs with your adventure buddies. We’ve got something in mind for thrills, views and killer hikes. We just really hope you’re not too scared of heights.

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is world’s largest rotating tram car. If you want to see Palm Springs like never before then this is the way to do it! You and your brave buds will ascend over two miles (gulp) in the sunny SoCal sky. Take in the sights and gear up for the hikes; it’s going to be an exciting ride.

Now your stomach is telling you it’s time for lunch and no weekend in Palm Springs is complete without a visit to Lulu California Bistro. We recommend sinking those chompers into their tender and fresh Tower of Avocado & Ahi Tuna Tartare. Oh, and don’t forget to take a selfie with that giant cup of cotton candy for dessert. Open for breakfast every day at 8 a.m., be sure not to miss their award-winning Sunday brunch.

After a long hike and some good eats, it’s time to relax. The Feel Good Spa at the Ace is a wonderful place to get that much deserved “me time.” Get a customized massage and recharge your batteries; there’s still more to do.

If you’re looking for a nice spot to sip a cocktail and catch up with your amigos then it only makes sense to mosey on down to the Ace’s old school, classy bar and lounge, which is rightfully named The Amigo Room.

Before you leave, don’t forget to grab one of the many craft beers on tap as you take your party poolside. Now you can strut that summer bod you’ve been working on since January, right? Just kidding, abs are so last summer.

If you thought breakfast was good at King’s Highway, wait until you taste what award-winning chef Carlos Salgado is cooking for dinner. Order the succulent Salmon Al Pastor and pair it with a fresh Paloma cocktail. Embrace the southwest flavors of the salty citrus beverage and the zesty fresh fish, now that is SoCal cuisine.

Once your belly is full of southwest inspired goodness, continue enjoying the bohemian vibes of the Ace and check out night’s festivities in The Amigo Room. Whether it’s a discoteca or a karaoke night with Keisha, The Amigo Room is always hosting some kind of shindig.

After a little dancing or a little singing, maybe even both, you can hit that soft bed back at your room or stay up and watch the sunrise over the desert sky. When morning comes, you can do it all over again or maybe discover something new, just be sure to tell us about it, we love finding new adventures!
