A Swanky New Cocktail Lounge Is Now Open in Las Vegas—Here’s All the Deets

This Sleek Vegas Lounge Is the Perfect Place to Raise a Glass

On June 24, 2021, Resorts World Las Vegas, a highly anticipated concept on the Las Vegas strip, opened up along with Gatsby’s Cocktail Lounge—a 4,000-square-foot Clique Hospitality upscale cocktail lounge at the east end of the casino. The 360-degree space is open on all sides and is anchored by a gorgeous 40-foot bar. The venue combines elegant and whimsical design elements, boasting playful features like a “bubble” ceiling along with refined art deco styling. Vegas Gatsby’s Cocktail Lounge

John Pettei, managing partner with Clique Hospitality, shares that Gatsby’s specializes in well-made cocktails. “[We serve] traditional classics such as a Negroni or a French 75 and ensure that each one is made with love. Clique also brought on highly regarded Mixologist Michael LaPenna to create a collection of proprietary cocktails you’ll only find at Gatsby’s. In addition to these crafty concoctions, there will also be an eclectic selection of 10 to 15 different sparkling wines and champagnes by the glass to choose from.

“Too much of anything is bad, but too much champagne is just right.”—The Great Gatsby Vegas Gatsby’s Cocktail Lounge

While a cocktail isn’t hard to come by in the glitzy city of Las Vegas, Pettei teases that some of the most innovative cocktails on the strip are hidden away for those who are in the know. “There is a secret drink menu, but I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag. Some of the most unique and over-the-top cocktails we have will live on this secret menu.” Many of these concoctions are a treat for the eyes (and the iPhone) with cool presentations, including a shareable cocktail served in a “bathtub”—fittingly called the Champagne Bubble Bath. This boujee beverage is crafted with gin, Aperol, strawberry rose syrup, muddled blood orange, mojito foam, and is finished with champagne for an effervescent quality. “The only thing not edible is the rubber ducky,” says Pettei. Also sure to be popular is their dessert cocktail, served in a waffle cone with a special chocolate lining that seals in the cocktail to keep it from seeping out of the cone. Clues to unlocking Gatsby’s secret beverage menu will be hidden throughout the lounge.

Classic cocktail lovers will appreciate twists on traditional libations, such as the Gatz’s Old Fashioned, a smoked cocktail that employs vanilla bitters and spiced demerara along with a combination of two whiskeys: Russell’s Reserve 6 Year Rye, which is light with a clean finish, and Clyde May’s Alabama Whiskey, which gives it a hint of apple.

Pettei shares that the cocktail he is most excited about is a fresh take on a popular martini. “A porn star martini is a classic cocktail that’s really popular in England. We’ve deconstructed the porn star martini into a pair of shots. One has vanilla vodka and passion fruit, and the other has passion fruit caviar balls with sparkling wine, so they float to the top, topped with electric dust.”

EXP 7/30

Pettei promises, “Gatsby’s is the place to be, not just for cocktails before dinner or your show,” but also a destination for those looking for “a great vibe and scene.” The venue will have DJs playing everyone’s favorite music all night long. “Diggin in the Crates” will be an all-vinyl night every Thursday where guests will be able to choose a vinyl from over 300 selections and put it in the “request pile” to be played throughout the night. Forget club DJ requests—let’s get down to funky tunes with a timeless sound!
