Saturday marks the official beginning of fall. Amidst the pumpkin spice lattes, the early unveiling of Halloween décor and the slight temp change here in SoCal—we’re talking a brisk 77 degrees—we feel it is only necessary to say goodbye to summer, the season closest to our hearts and the season responsible for our golden tans.
This weekend, the Lido House Hotel wants locals to join them for their End of Summer Celebration taking place Sept. 23. on the Newport Lawn from 4-7 p.m. Here are a few convincing reasons why you should shake off the Sunday scaries and head to this soirée:

The Lido House Hotel opened its doors to the public only recently, and their bright and shining presence has made the peninsula scene even more lively and worthy of your Insta feed. The Newport Lawn is the perfect setting for this particular event, as it allows guests to soak in the last of the summer rays and take in the quintessentially Newport scene.

If I get to a party and there’s no food, it’s 100 percent plausible that I will leave within five minutes. At the End of Summer Celebration, grub will be in great supply, ensuring foodies like myself can munch on oysters, bratwurst, other grilled options, mini clambakes and a selection of desserts until the shindig comes to a close.

We’ve covered the food, but is it even a party without a little something special to wash it all down? Bevvies like beer, wine and champagne will be on deck to complement those oysters and what not, but we’re all about the adult popsicles that will make your inner child dance with glee. Just keep them away from the actual kiddos, ok?

You’re full of delicious fare, and you’ve had about enough adult popsicles to warrant an Uber or Lyft ride home after the party is over. Until then, it’s time to capitalize on that liquid courage. Live music will be playing so you can show off your moves that you have been fine-tuning all summer. And if classic lawn games are more your vibe, there will be plenty there, encouraging a little friendly competition with your fellow attendees.

The foundation upholds Carlson’s legacy through continuing positive work within the community, supporting causes like scholarships, informative water safety programs, youth programs and more.
