Tired of the same weekend activities? Switch it up and learn a new skill, listen to live music from your car or take a virtual ballet class! This August, Los Angeles is getting creative with activities for the entire family, and we’re here for it.

 

1 | Still Life Ceramics Single Class Sessions Los Angeles Activities

When: Ongoing

Still Life Ceramics at ROW DTLA and in Santa Monica is offering virtual courses and live workshops through Zoom. From coil building to sculpting, check out the variety of classes offered here. They will also be offering Pottery in the Park classes, where you can learn everything about pottery in just four weeks! 

 

2 | Step Up Your Shopify Knowledge

When: August 4, 6, 13

3 | San Fernando Valley Drive-In Movies

When: August 13, 14, 15, 16

The Sandlot, Grease and Jurassic Park—these beloved classics will be playing in August at the San Fernando Valley Drive-In. Get your tickets here

 

4 | Take a Trip to Catalina Los Angeles Activities

Escape to an island without hopping on a plane. Catalina Island is taking all of the necessary health and safety precautions while still making it a relaxing, enjoyable destination for guests. Cruise on over for an overdue vacay! 

 

5 | Tune in on Sundays at Seven Los Angeles Activities

Every Sunday, the Walt Disney Concert Hall has been releasing a past concert that was performed at the concert hall. We suggest cooking a nice Sunday dinner and putting on this magical music. 

 

6 | Concerts in Your Car

That’s right, live music from the comfort of your car is most definitely a thing in 2020. Concerts in Your Car is a pop-up entertainment concept taking place at the Ventura County Fairgrounds! Enjoy some safe, socially distanced entertainment. 

 

7 | Los Angeles Ballet – A Chance to Dance

When: August 9

Los Angeles Ballet is offering free virtual classes every other Sunday. Classes include ballet, alternative dance and fitness as well as lectures and demonstrations. Join Los Angeles Ballet for these classes on A Chance to Dance’s Instagram page, @chancetodancela.

 

8 | Tulum Without the Travel 

Head on over to E.P. & L.P. to experience the new Tulum inspired pop-up, Las Palmas. Las Palmas is open for dinner each night from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. Experience new cocktails––like the Paradise and Las Palmas––and a brand-new menu with SoCal Mexican dishes.
