For those foodies out there, these temporary eateries provide the perfect opportunity to test out a new place and rely usually on social media to create buzz. Occurring in unexpected places, for a limited time, pop-up restaurants allow chefs to showcase their talents to a wider audience and gain mass appeal. Here are four upcoming LA food pop-ups that are a must try.

The Wild Chive serves soulful vegan cuisine in Long Beach for Sunday brunch 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Thursday dinner 5-9 p.m. Located inside MADE By Millworks, chef Soozee Nguyen recreates meatless versions of childhood favorites like stuffed French toast.

S’MOREOLOGY

Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee Truck

The new Sidecar Truck brings their signature doughnut flavors like smoked chocolate and pretzel, pink lemonade and birthday cake at each pop-up, ensuring a fresh, warm doughnut for every customer. From summer into the fall, the truck will be popping up all over LA.

Native Knowledge: If you happen to be lucky enough to live close to one of their brick and mortar shops, go early! There’s usually a line but it is so worth it.

Sweet Rose Creamery

Every Saturday and Sunday through Labor Day, Sweet Rose Creamery will be throwing Pie Pop-Ups at Brentwood Country Mart. From 8 a.m.-noon., stop by and hang out on the patio and enjoy peanut butter and jelly hand pies, farmers market fruit galettes and more. If you are in the mood for something more savory, try an egg, cheese and spinach, veggie sausage and kale or vegan caponata hand pie.
