Joan’s on Third is known as “an L.A. foodie institution.” Chef Joan McNamara opened Joan’s on Third in 1995, quickly putting Third Street on the pulse of Los Angeles’s culinary destinations. Their marketplace options—such as Chinese Chicken Salad, Tree Oyster Mushrooms With Toasted Walnuts and Grilled Cheese—are where it’s at. With antique and vintage touches, this charming bistro is a must-visit.

Native Knowledge: Getting Joan’s on Third to-go and having a picnic at the Hollywood Bowl or Malibu Wines is the quintessential Los Angeles activity.

Jon & Vinny’s has two homes in Los Angeles—Fairfax and Brentwood. Known as some of the best Italian food in all of Los Angeles, Jon & Vinny’s caters delicious pizzas. Order the White Lightning or LA Woman pizza and prepare for your taste buds to dance the Italian way. You can’t forget dessert. Sugarfish is sushi delicacy at its finest. Trust the chef and order the Trust Me Lite or the Trust Me order, pre-picked sushi options for dinner. The rice is warm, the sushi is of the highest quality and the ambiance is modern yet cozy.
