Monday

To start my week off, I sometimes set aside time at the end of the day to stop in at 18|8 Fine Men’s Salon in Irvine for their manicure package. Some of my favorite services include the executive haircut, aromatic hot towel treatment and complete hand and nail service. Nothing sets the tone for the week for me than a good grooming treat.

Tuesday

Tuesday night is always taco night for my wife and I–and there is no better place to be on Taco Tuesday than La Vida Cantina in Costa Mesa. It provides a great atmosphere to kick back and enjoy the evening.

Wednesday

Wednesdays usually mean dinner at home, which is best when it includes a quick side trip after work to Astoria at Central Park West’s on-site, climate-controlled private wine cellar to pick up a select bottle (or two) from our private locker to go with whatever is cooking in the oven at home.

Thursday

After a heavy Wednesday dinner at home, I start my Thursdays in the company of Astoria’s in-house personal trainer, Tony Arreola of Total Body Project. Tony runs the fitness training program at the property and also caters to a number of outside clients. I never tell Tony what I had for dinner the night before because he tends to add a few more lunges into my routine for those extra slices of pot roast.

Friday

Friday night is date night for my wife and I. This often means dinner at Mastro’s Steakhouse in Costa Mesa. From the house margarita and seafood tower to the live piano music, you will never go wrong. It’s definitely my favorite way to kick-off the weekend.

Saturday

With so much open space and great bike trails, the city of Irvine has become a mecca for an avid cyclist. My preferred ride is usually with the Bicycle Club of Irvine—one of the most well-run cycling clubs in the area. A typical ride with the group is a 20-mile group ride around the city. The club provides a great way to socialize and stay in-tune with what’s happening around the city.

Sunday

Sunday is family day for me. This means an outside patio brunch at Newport Beach Yacht Club. It’s definitely a great way to close off the week—especially if you can pull off a table with a waterfront view of the harbor while enjoying Chef Roberto’s Club Sandwich.
