And to detract from the dear dog days coming to an end, we’re here to offer a delightful remedy in the form of film. Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas is a leading world-class theater chain that offers guests the ultimate movie-going experiences. With delectable eats and premium drinks, Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas is the premier movie destination to escape to this fall.

Sept. 6—IT Chapter Two Movies in September

Watch With: Your SO to curl up next to or embrace in fright

“For 27 years, I dreamt of you. I craved you. I’ve missed you!” The words chillingly uttered by the killer clown, Pennywise, fill the luxurious theater. Twenty-seven years after their first horrific encounter with the evil force, the Losers Club must reunite and return to their hometown of Derry to conquer their childhood fears in hopes of destroying Pennywise once and for all.

Drink This: The Cinépolis Magnificent Margarita made with Casamigos Blanco tequila, Grand Marnier float, fresh lime juice and agave nectar is served on the rocks in a salted rim glass and will help ease the nerves during this thriller.

Eat This: With much of the film revolving around carnivals, it only makes sense to indulge in some festive fair food like the Street Dog, made with a Nathan’s® Famous Hot Dog and covered in caramelized onions, jalapeños, smoked bacon, pico, sour cream, ketchup and mustard.

Native Knowledge: Every Monday through Thursday, Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas hosts happy hour. From 3:30-5:30 p.m., enjoy a whopping 40 percent off of house wines by the glass, draft beer and well liquor. Location specials may vary.

Sept. 6—K-12 Must-See Movies

Watch With: Theatre thespians and musical lovers

Marketed as “an eerily enchanting musical film,” Melanie Martinez makes her directorial debut in the spooky, fantastical K-12, which she also wrote. The story takes place in a totalitarian-like boarding school and revolves around Cry Baby and her band of magical friends who must fight the evils of their patriarchal principal and faculty who have literally taken over the student body with mind control. This film will be playing at these select theaters: Westlake, Pico Rivera and Vista.

Drink This: In a film filled with pretty pinks and pastels, enjoy the perfectly refreshing All Day Rosé, made with Rosa tequila, Cinépolis Rosé wine, fresh lime juice and orange peel.

Eat This: Complement your rosé with the Tapas and Cheese Plate, which includes prosciutto tapas with pesto goat cheese and arugula, assorted cheeses, olives, apples, strawberries and crostinis.

Native Knowledge: Private events can be held for events like corporate entertaining, meetings, holiday parties, anniversaries and birthdays. Tickets purchased in bulk qualify for group discounts.

Sept. 13—The Goldfinch Movies in September

Watch With: Those who eagerly await the Oscars every year

Based on Donna Taratt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, The Goldfinch has been adapted to the silver screen. This drama revolves around adolescent Theodore Decker, whose mother was killed in a bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Later taken in by a wealthy New York family from the Upper East Side, the boy tries to recover from the rubble of tragedy and finds peace in the form of a priceless keepsake—a small painting of a goldfinch chained to a perch.

Drink This: Relax, sit back and take in acting excellence with a nice glass of wine. Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas offers a wide range of white or red wines, including pinot noirs, merlots and cabs.

Eat This: With a variety of options to choose from, a classic pepperoni, Margherita, prosciutto truffle, or Mediterranean veggie flatbread is the way to go.

Native Knowledge: Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas joined forces with Sonoma Wine Company, which helped source the theater’s vineyard, to create their house wines of Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Must-See Movies

Sept. 13—Hustlers Must-See Movies

Watch With: Your best gal pals

Inspired by a New York magazine article, “The Hustlers at Scores” by Jessica Pressler, Hustlers centers around a group of savvy exotic dancers who hustle a number of Wall Street tycoon clientele out of massive sums of cash. The film illustrates just how far these women, who have been degraded by their male clients, are willing to go to attain their version of the American Dream.

Drink This: With a number of myths identifying the legendary drink to be named after various people, one thing holds true: the margarita was inspired by women, so the Spicy Strawberry Margarita, a twist on the classic cocktail, is a perfect selection to sip on during this girl-power flick. This cocktail features Tanteo Jalapeño Blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, fresh jalapeño rings, strawberry purée and agave nectar, served on the rocks in a salted rim glass.

Eat This: Not many foods scream ‘fun’ like nachos, so opt for the Ultimate Nachos, made with homemade chips and topped with chicken, bacon, jalapeños, refried beans, queso, pico and sour cream.

Native Knowledge: Magic Hour is back! Enjoy reduced ticket pricing Monday through Thursday on shows from 2-5 p.m. for a limited time only!

Sept. 20—Downton Abbey Movies in September

Watch With: “Downton Abbey” enthusiasts, of course

Picking up where the series of six years left off, Downton Abbey chronicles the lives of the Crawley family following the death of Lord Grantham’s son, making way for the next rightful heir to take his place as head of the grand household estate. Drama and mishap ensue, and the intriguing staff who partake in keeping the household affairs in order are also present to witness all of the drama unfold.

Drink This: While hot tea is on the menu, if you’re looking for something a little stronger, the classy Cinépolis Old Fashioned is our recommendation. Made with Bulleit bourbon, orange bitters, a dash of maple syrup and topped with an orange peel, this libation is wildly appropriate for the occasion.

Eat This: It will be like having your own little tea party when you order the Garden Pita. With queso fresco, avocado, cucumber, tomato sprouts, lettuce and the option to add chicken or shrimp, this delectable plate is the perfect treat to snack on while watching the beloved British series make its way to the big screen.

Native Knowledge: With Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas’ new Rewards Program, you can earn points for every dollar spent on food and beverages, as well as for every ticket purchased. Rewards can be redeemed for exclusive event access, special discounts and cash-back rewards! A free 85-ounce butter popcorn will be gifted at sign up.
