Q: What is a customer getting at Nine Zero One Salon that they cannot get elsewhere?
Riawna Capri: When a client books an appointment with a Nine Zero One artist, they get an appointment with that artist and not with their assistant the entire time. We take pride in our attention to detail and fun environment with great music and good energy.
Q: Bridal parties are a big part of your business. What are some of the bridal hair and makeup trends we will see this wedding season?
RC: With formal styling and updos, we will see more plays on texture. Instead of braids or curls, we’ll see knots and twists.
Q: What was it like working on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show?
RC: The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is so fun. Everyone anticipates that show all year, so when the time comes to get those girls ready, it’s fast paced and full of positive energy!
Q: You maintain an onsite academy. What standards are expected of a newly hired stylist?
RC: Our on-site academy is a training space for stylists/assistants within the Nine Zero One team, along with stylists from all over the world, that are welcomed in to learn and experience the Nine Zero One way. We share our cutting/coloring/styling techniques along with information on our favorite products and tools.
Q: What color or style trend do you wish would disappear for good?
RC: Stripey highlights! Especially with darker clients. Brunettes need to embrace their natural color! If they want to see brighter pieces, there needs to be a transition or melt from dark to light in order for it to look natural! No more bright pieces coming straight from the root!
