Our Favorite ‘50s Themed Restaurant is Celebrating Their 35th Anniversary

Written By: Chelsea Raineri Ruby’s Diner 35th Anniversary

Milkshakes, tunes from the ‘50s and those classic red and white striped uniforms. Any true Southern California local knows where to find all these gems in one place—Ruby’s Diner. But just a few decades ago, this iconic restaurant could only be found in Newport Beach on the Balboa Pier. Since 1982, the chain has expanded across the country with more than 34 locations to shooby-dooby down and grab a burger and fries.  Ruby’s Diner 35th Anniversary

This Thursday, Dec. 7, marks the 35th anniversary of Ruby’s Diner creating a special place in our hearts. To celebrate, they will be offering the Ruby Burger and fries for just $2.99 with proceeds benefiting the Ruby Dooby Foundation and the Spark of Love toy drive. For those not familiar with the Ruby Dooby Foundation, the organization works to support charities like CHOC Children’s, Nepal Youth Foundation, NEGU Jessie Rees Foundation and more. Inspired by the late Ruby Cavanaugh, a woman who was beautiful both inside and out, you can contribute to the charity by dining at the diner on Dec. 7 and also by donating online at
