If the weather is right (and it usually is in San Diego), I like to take my 12 p.m. meeting to The Pool House for lunch. My favorite is the Big Eye Tuna Poke bowl with half rice and half salad.
A favorite mid-week treat is going on a run after work. One of my favorite routes is to run from Pendry San Diego to Harbor Island. Nothing beats running along the water!
I always look forward to a date night with my wife at Cucina Enoteca. We love to order the Brussels sprouts—the sauce is amazing! When we want to stay in, I even recreate it at home!
Shopping at Pigment in North Park, it’s my go-to place for gifts. The last time I was there my daughter and I made a terrarium with succulents for my wife’s birthday. Another great place to shop is SoLo because of their fun selection of books, kitchen and cooking items. As a former chef, I love it!
Friday mornings are almost harder than Mondays, so to jumpstart my day I order an iced nonfat latte at Provisional Kitchen, Café & Mercantile with an order of the avocado toast. Or, if I was at Oxford Social Club too late, then there is nothing better than the breakfast sandwich.
After going to lacrosse practice with my son, we go out to brunch. One of our favorite spots is the Cottage in La Jolla. My son loves to sit on the outdoor patio while eating up the Stuffed French Toast with strawberry compote and mascarpone.
On Sundays, I love to hike Torrey Pines with the whole family. After our hike, we head to Venissimo in Del Mar for some post-hike snacks. There is nothing better than Mt. Tam Cowgirl Creamery Cheese with grilled sourdough bread.
