One of the best things about living in or visiting California is the beautiful weather that we all just love to soak up out here. Whether it’s a hot sunny day by the bay or a cool breeze picks up, there’s no reason to be stuck inside! Luckily in San Francisco there are plenty of amazing outdoor restaurants and bars that are just waiting to be discovered. Here are some of our favorite local spots that you will absolutely fall in love with. sf restaurants with amazing outdoor dining

Foreign Cinema

The first place on our list is not a great place to enjoy the great outdoors, but you’ll be getting dinner and a show when dining here. Foreign Cinema is located right on Mission Street and has been a beloved staple of the SF community since it’s opening in 1999. It prides itself on not only the uniqueness of the place, but also the decadent, local, ever-evolving menu you will find here. Although the atmosphere inside is eclectic and filled with beautiful art, it’s the outside patio you’ll want to be dining out on. This restaurant makes for the perfect date night, as the setting outdoors is romantic with lots of hanging lights and a huge projection screen on the back wall. Foreign Cinema projects all kinds of movies, including tons of foreign films that set a wonderful scene for any warm California night. This is a great place to take someone special, but be sure to make reservations to avoid a long wait!

Bar Agricole

Next on our list is Bar Agricole, which is what we would refer to as a hidden gem around town. It has a secluded, exclusive sense about it once you’re inside that will have you feeling like you’re in a secret hideaway that you’ll want to keep all to yourself. The outdoor patio has an urban style with some really interesting art, heat lamps to keep you warm and tons of great lighting. The whole restaurant and bar has a sense of sustainability, too, and that’s a big part of what this place is all about. The menu is constantly changing based on local ingredients being used so you not only know you’re eating great, quality ingredients, but there’s always something new to look forward to trying.

Biergarten

Every city needs a beer garden where you can go to kick back and relax after a long day or week and San Fran is lucky to have a great one right in town! Biergarten is located in the Hayes Valley area of the Bay and it’s a local, neighborhood favorite. It has a large outdoor seating area filled with picnic tables so it’s great for showing up with a bunch of friends or making new ones that day. The beer list rotates from different beer selections from all over the world, including some of the oldest breweries around. Anyone who enjoys beer will appreciate the selection and if you don’t then you can order one of their wines, which are equally delicious. Make sure to grab a giant pretzel, bratwurst or any of their other delicious food items to go along with your ale. A visit here is guaranteed to be a great day out!

Palm House

If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and take a break on island time, then the Palm House has just what you’re looking for. This place’s motto is the classic, “It’s happy hour somewhere, ” and that’s exactly the kind of place we want to be at. Their name comes from the fact that it sits right on Union Street, behind the second oldest Palm tree in the city and everything else they do here derives from that. Grab a seat on their patio, order up some tropical California cuisine and a piña colada and escape the busy city life for a while.

Americano Restaurant and Bar

Americano is located in the Hotel Vitale and is serving up some handcrafted, delicious Italian cuisine. Whether you are staying at the hotel or joining them for an amazing meal, you need to sit out on the patio when you do dine there. Americano not only has great food and cocktails, but it has some of the best views of the San Francisco Bay around. Take in the beautiful views as you enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner or their fabulous happy hour menu. Dine Outside In San Francisco
