Get excited: the Del Mar Highlands Town Center is undergoing a $120 million expansion project adding over 120,000 square feet of exciting new tenants. Tara Sanchez, the Marketing Specialist behind the project, says the expansion will include “40 contemporary shops, top-rated restaurants, boutique fitness studios and new spaces to work, play and lounge.” Perhaps the most exciting addition? The Sky Deck is “a restaurant collective experience inspired by El Nacional in Barcelona.”

The Sky Deck will bring a new dining concept to San Diego by creating an experience that encourages social gatherings under a rooftop skylight. With a central cocktail bar surrounded by eight to 10 distinct dining destinations, why would you want to go anywhere else?

3 | Take It on a Higher Level
Make your way up to the third level via a spiral staircase and you’ll find yourself on an elevated outdoor area dubbed the “brewer’s deck.” Not only will you catch an eye-popping view of the tree-filled community, the brewer’s deck will also “feature satellite tasting rooms from Northern Pine, Rough Draft Brewing and Boochcraft Kombucha,” says Sanchez.
4 | One for All
The Sky Deck isn’t only intended for enjoyment during the day! Make sure you take advantage of the communal bar and open collective seating. The space was designed for “people of all ages for dinner, evening cocktails, date nights and casual nights out with friends,” explains Sanchez.
5 | Never Leave Again
The Sky Deck will meet the needs and wants of Carmel Valley and further solidify it as the destination hub to run errands, shop, dine and lounge with friends from day-to-night.

The full range of new retailers is being announced this month with openings expected this fall and The Sky Deck slated to open in early 2020!
Fit, Fit, Hooray! Boutique fitness lovers, you’re in luck! San Diego’s first locations of StretchLab and Row House open in 2020, and Club Pilates will move to a larger space.
Stay Classy: The Del Mar Highlands Town Center is an upscale destination that currently houses two grocers, a luxury cinema, sophisticated dining, boutique retailers and specialty services.
