With sweeping ocean views and breathtaking scenery, The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel is a go-to getaway. Combine private rooms that provide the comfort of home with the luxuries of patio dining along the cliffs of Laguna Niguel, and there really couldn’t be a more magical destination. It is one of Orange County’s most luxurious resorts, and this year it’s doing its part to give back. This November, the The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel is presenting its Annual Holiday Surfboard Auction. The resort’s Community Footprints program is teaming up with Surfer’s Healing, which is a surf camp benefitting children with autism.

Surfer’s Healing was founded by Izzy and Danielle Paskowitz family whose son was affected by autism and was calmed by the waves, and only the waves. His father, pro surfer Izzy Paskowitz took this newfound realization and wanted to share it with the several other families working through similar obstacles. It is a nonprofit organization, and their annual surf camp brings in thousands of participants each year in search of ways to donate and support these families in any way they can.

The Holiday Surfboard Auction exhibits hand-painted surfboards from several artists that are displayed at the resort and auctioned off to benefit Surfers Healing. Boards are being donated from well-known shops like Brawner Boards, Ellis Surfboards, Hobie and Firewire and feature paintings by renowned artists from Wyland to Guy Takayama and Robin Heirs. The auction runs from Nov. 18 to Dec. 31, giving plenty of opportunity to come out and donate in celebration of the season for giving. You can bid on the boards at www.biddingforgood.com/surfershealing.

Since its beginning in 2008, The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel’s Holiday Surfboard Auction has raised more than $300,000 for Surfer’s Healing and plans to increase that number as the years go on!

This year, The Ritz-Carlton is featuring its annual Surfing Santa Competition and adding a new category for a SUP competition (stand-up paddle boarding). This is a two-day event that kicks off the fundraiser on Nov. 18 and finishes Nov. 19. The Surfing Santa Competition will feature 10 different categories to compete in, including both the surfing and SUPing contests. In previous years, prizes have included Carver skateboards, Sun Bum gifts, Rip Curl watches and much more to ensure that the fight to win is more than worth it!

When hunger strikes during the festivities, have no fear! The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel is home to some of the finest cuisines in Orange County. Renowned chef Richard Sandoval brings his Latin flare to the resort with the restaurant Raya. With the freshest ingredients, local produce and organic meat and seafood options, Sandoval’s acclaimed cooking skills will take your tasting palate to the next level. Some of Sandoval’s fan favorites are the Lobster Tacos, Pan Seared Scallops and Dungeness Crab Mashed Potatoes. Is your mouth watering yet?

Not only is the food amazing, but the restaurant is nestled right on the cliffs of some of the finest beaches Laguna has to offer and provides a delicious Sunday brunch you won’t want to miss. Starting with a two-course meal and followed by dessert choices from chocolate bread pudding to sweet potato pie, our stomachs are already growling!

Another restaurant on deck is enoSTEAK, an intimate steakhouse centered around an expansive wine cabinet and gorgeous paintings by artist Sandra Jones Campbell. Here, you can find plates such as the Wedge Salad, Prime Filet and the Truffle White Cheddar Cavatelli.

This event will give the gift of sharing memories that will be remembered for years to come. Come out and be a part of something great this holiday, and tis the season for giving! Surfing Santa Ritz Carlton
