Written By: Hayleigh Shobar The 5 Halloween Parties in the Bay You Can’t Miss—Or Else

The chances are that mismatched pumpkins are cluttering the doorsteps of your neighborhood and you may have indulged in some pumpkin spice [fill in the blank with food item of choice] because word has it that fall in full swing. And as we near the end of October, it’s just about time to start considering costume choices and cocktails, because Halloween is scarily upon us. But don’t worry because we here at LOCALE have you covered. From the BOO-ze and witches’ brew, to the clubs where ghouls and ghosts alike will be shredding up the dance floor, your Oct. 31 will be a night unlike any other.

Halloween Weekend at Bruno’s Nightclub

Halloween is a three-night event at Bruno’s, located in the Mission District. And if that’s not enticing enough, consider this: a different handpicked DJ each night to get you out on the dance floor and meet that eclectic music craving you’ve been having. While we’re on the topic of appetite, Bruno’s has a full-service bar that promotes its updated twists on the classic cocktail. With four rooms to peruse—each complete with a different vibe and atmosphere—you’ll have plenty to keep you and your group entertained, as you ring in the spooks on Halloween night.

Halloween Mangchi Event at Elbo Room

Mangchi promises, “There are things in life you can’t unsee, ” and isn’t that the truth. This self-proclaimed goth band guarantees a unique experience once you enter its mangled, mad world. Sounds perfect for Halloween night. Also in the Mission District, the Elbo Room opened after the Prohibition era and has been reigning strong ever since. With two full-service bars, a stage, and a dance floor, the Elbo Room has you covered with all the true essentials you need to make Oct. 31 one heck of a holiday.

DJs and live entertainment will be spinning hip hop, the classics, and Top 40 hits. Seeing as this is the Roc’s first annual Halloween event, the sports bar has plans to go all out and what better night than the freakiest night of the year?

A Nightmare on Van Ness at Grand at the Regency Center

Finally, the Regency Center is hosting its 7th annual Halloween event, A Nightmare on Van Ness. You know it’s going to be good when they describe it as “a night of revelry and debauchery.” With three levels of entertainment, four rooms of music, dancers, decor, and a costume party, the Regency is slated to go all-out. Nothing says Halloween quite like an art-deco theater packed full of decked-out party goers, meaning you had better find a way to make it there too.

Native Knowlege: Tickets online are much cheaper than at the door, and the sooner you buy, the greater the discount! Also, purchasing the VIP option will give you access to a 4-hour all-you-can-drink bar on the mezzanine floor.
