Although Mondays are never fun, I try to break my workday in half by getting lunch with my fiancé at HiroNori Craft Ramen near her work in Irvine. Pro tip: Get the tonkotsu ramen with extra pork.
Tuesdays are for tacos! After a day of driving around to all of our restaurants, I love to stop into the El Cholo in CDM near my house. Five dollar margaritas are hard to beat, plus the bar scene is always fun.

After downing too many margaritas and tacos on Tuesday, I like to keep it a little more healthy at Coast Fish Company for lunch on Wednesdays—although I will be envying those enjoying burritos and salmon burgers.
Thursday night is volleyball night. My fiancé and I play in a coed indoor volleyball league run by the City of Newport Beach. Sadly, our six-foot-six friend moved away recently, so we lost our secret weapon.
My favorite bar in Newport is still Malarky’s on the Peninsula. After college, I lived two blocks away, and even though I am no longer there every Friday night like I used to be, it is always fun to head there with friends and relive fun memories.
My entire life I have been going to Big Newport to see movies on what us kids used to describe as “The biggest screen this side of the Mississippi!” The new RPX theater makes the experience that much better.
It might be basic, but you can’t beat brunch. Of course, I have to go to The Cannery and get a bloody mary with a thick cut of bacon and eggs Benedict upstairs in the Jellyfish Lounge.
