Brunch is Always a Good Idea

While there is always work to be done and errands to be run, it’s important to make time for everyone’s favorite weekend meal that falls between breakfast and lunch. Whether you enjoy brunch on both Saturday and Sunday of every weekend, or only occasionally,  there are some go-to sweet spots in town that will meet your breakfast wishes and champagne dreams. Seeing as it’s socially acceptable to wet your whistle before noon, you’re encouraged to dig in and drink up at barleymash, Breakfast Republic, Et Voilà, Fig Tree Café and Park 101. Make your brunch anything but basic by skipping the mimosas and checking out any of these equally cool cocktails to pair with your Benedict or breakfast burger!

barleymash

barleymash, in the heart of the Gaslamp District, is a top choice for brunch with bubbles, Bloody Mary’s and booze on the menu. A must-have drink to tickle your taste buds is the delightful St. Germain champagne carafe; a cocktail made with St. Germain liqueur, house champagne, white wine, peach liqueur, fresh fruit and hibiscus flower. For the more adventurous, try the Skyy Vodka Bloody Bar where you can build your own Bloody Mary.

They offer the flavorful Summer Breeze, which consists of vodka, a tropical detox antioxidant shot, muddled blueberries and raspberries, lemon squeeze, a splash of soda water and orgeat. To kick it up a notch, try the Jal-Apeñ-O Business, a mix of vodka, soda water, jalapeño, mint, fresh lime and strawberries, not a drink created for the those with faint taste buds. Other options include a Beermosa, Chelada and their Jurassic Pork Bloody Mary.
