You Voted: Here Are Your Favorite Late Night Eats in South Bay

For When it’s Late, You and Your Friends Are Hungry, and You Want Great Food

Written By: Rae Ann Varona Late Night Food in South Bay

Ah, summer time. The days are longer, drinks get colder and forgetting your jacket on a night out is perfectly fine. While summer adventures will more likely than not include days at the beach, barbecues and catching perfect sunsets over the ocean, carrying the fun into the later hours is bound to happen. And more often than not, the question of where to eat will come up, and let’s face it, one can only resort to fast food eateries on those late night adventures so many times (no matter how tempting In-N-Out sounds). Below are five must try eateries in the South Bay to fuel your late night cravings and adventures.

Randy’s Donuts

For 64 years, this Los Angeles icon has continued to serve a wide variety of classic, deluxe and gourmet donuts, cookies, brownies and croissants 24/7 because we all know donuts are not just for breakfast. Known for its massive donut rooftop sculpture featured in a number of TV shows and films, Randy’s Donuts churns out multiple batches everyday to ensure you’re getting them fresh at any hour of the day or night. Their most popular items? Their iconic glazed donuts are their number one late night order, followed by their new line of gourmet candy and cereal topped donuts you’ll want to add to your Instagram feed. Randy’s Donuts is also a great LAX pitstop for those late-night-early-morning drives on the 405.

Randy’s Donuts gets packed after concerts and events at the Forum or other local venues, so expect big lines! Their drive-thru is also always open, but you’re probably going to want to come out and take a few pics anyways.

If summer nights and satisfying seafood sounds like a good combination, then Fishbar is for you. Fishbar has daily specials everyday of the week from Margarita Madness Mondays, Taco Tuesdays and so forth! Some of their most popular menu items include their Crispy Calamari, Ahi Tuna Poke and Blackened Fish Tacos. Their additional late night Thursday menu features dishes like Spicy Tuna Nachos, Chowder Fries, and Bacon Wrapped Filet. Fishbar’s full menu is available until 11 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday with extended kitchen hours until midnight from Thursday to Saturday.

Torrance Tavern

Sometimes you just want to crack open a cold one with your friends late into the night. Torrance Tavern is there to welcome you with open arms, an assortment of locally crafted beers, domestic and international brews, a full bar and, of course, great bar food that you can order until 1 a.m. every night (full bar until 2 a.m.)! Popular happy hour items are their Chili Verde Nachos, their Carolina Reaper or BBQ Wings, and their Onion Ring Tower which during happy hour and cost $2.95 to $5.95. Crazy good deal. And if you’re feeling for something more, their regular menu features items like their Western Burger with ingredients like applewood smoked bacon and smoke Texas style barbecue sauce.

Hudson House and Bar

Yes, the Hudson House and Bar has a crazy good selection of drinks, but their food is a good enough reason to come in as well. Try their popular signature Hudson Pretzel Burger featuring grilled onions, bacon, Jarlsberg cheese and wild arugula to help soak up the booze. Other tempting items include their Mac and Goat Cheese, Lamb and Paneer Meatballs, Crispy Wild Rockfish Tacos and their Oreo Ice Cream Cake for dessert. Guests can order from the entire menu until closing at 1 a.m. Not really feeling like dining out? You can also order online for pick-up.

Simmzy’s Pub

Just steps away from the beach and the Manhattan Beach Pier is Simmzy’s Pub. With kitchen hours until midnight every Friday and Saturday and up to 10:30 p.m. other nights, Simmzy’s is a great ending spot after a day at the beach. They’ve got everything from small plates like their Hawaiian Style Poke with Crispy Rice, to their Bonfire Grilled Fish Tacos, to their original Oak Charred Simmzy’s Burger with Tillamook cheddar cheese, chow chow onions, lettuce, sliced tomato, garlic aioli, on a premium Breadbar bun. Top off your late night meal with their desserts like their Glampfire S’mores with dark chocolate pudding, graham cracker crust, salted peanuts, caramel sauce and toasted marshmallows.
