Written by: Michelle Jaco and Charlotte Farrell

With the stage now set for Super Bowl LIII, many of us are eagerly anticipating if the Patriots’ dynamic duo in Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will bring back yet another Super Bowl Championship to Foxborough, or if the Rams’ young bloods, led by Jared Goff and head coach Sean McVay, will deliver LA’s very first Super Bowl title. For those of us who will not be making the trek out to Atlanta for the big game, we’re here to offer an alternative solution to watch history in the making. Here’s our list of the best bars in Orange County to watch this year’s Super Bowl:

See You At Halftime

Class of 47

A local favorite, Class of 47 in Newport is going to be serving up their classically old school-style of celebration for this year’s Super Bowl. They’ve got about a dozen TV’s so you won’t miss a thing, a photo booth so you can snap some shots in all your Rams gear, pool in case you need a break from commercials and an assortment of patrons that have called this joint their watering hole for who knows how long. Let’s just say a few decades or so.

Huddle up With a Hamburger

Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern

Chronicled as “comfort food for foodies,” Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern offers deliciously-crafted artisan dishes and is most notably known for their half-pound Wagyu Beef burgers, which will provide ample fuel to get you through the long football Sunday. Inside, there are TV’s surrounding the bar area, with seating options either at the bar-top or neighboring tables. The decor is modern, inspired with hints of ‘70s retro, and at the forefront of the Brea location’s bar sits an American flag mural that ties can make anyone feel patriotic—whether you’re a New England fan or not!

Feel Like Winging It?

Epic Wings N’ Things

As it appears, the Chargers aren’t the only franchise who left San Diego this past off season… Too soon? Well on the bright side, this SD treasure didn’t relocate, but actually expanded to the Orange County area—and just in time for the big game. According to the National Chicken Council (yes, apparently that’s a thing), Americans are anticipated to eat more than 1.3 billion chicken wings for the Super Bowl. Contributing to the tally, this wing spot offers 100 percent natural, fresh and never frozen chicken, with a variety of deliciously flavored sauces spanning from spice levels of Mild to Atomic Hot. Come Sunday, wing it—pull up to the new Mission Viejo location, indulge in some delicious wings and enjoy the game!

Go out on the Towne

Towne Park Brewery & Taproom

Near Anaheim’s ARTIC train station lies one of Orange County’s most popular breweries: Towne Park Brewery & Taproom. Its industrial 1920s vibe can be admired from the moment you pull up to the front door with its dark vertical hanging sign reading “BREWERY” that sits atop a classic marquee and white backdrop highlighting the weekly events and drink specials. Speaking of drinks, stay energized throughout the game day with the brewery’s latest collaborative concoction that pairs a classic stout with cold brew coffee from Newport’s very own Common Room Roasters.

La Vida Cantina

With a title like “The Bar Life,” you can’t go wrong choosing La Vida Cantina as your fantasy football party destination. The restaurant sits atop the popular Triangle in Costa Mesa but feels as if you’re away on vacation in a tropical haven. The lot is huge, and the outdoor patio is prime real estate. Brunch Happy Hour will be running all day with fan favorites including Ceviche de Camaron, seared blackened ahi salad and the huevos con Chorizo to name a few. And, of course, brunch would not be complete without drink specials. Bottomless mimosas will be served all day long, but if Champagne gives you a headache, you can opt for Blood Marys instead. Both bottomless options are only $12!
