San Diego’s Wonderfront Festival is Going to Be One Shell of a Time!

Wonderfront Music Festival is coming to San Diego and you do NOT want to miss out. This highly anticipated, three-day music, culinary and arts festival will take place on the waterfront of downtown San Diego. It will synthesize the city and the sea in a way that no music festival has ever done before. Here are the top five reasons you need to attend Wonderfront festival in its inaugural year. 1 | The Lineup Is Diverse Wonderfront Festival San Diego
Do your friends have differing tastes in music? No problem! Wonderfront prides itself in its diversity of music genres with rock, indie rock, hip hop, EDM, rap, reggae, Americana and more. With over 95 bands on more than seven stages, headliners include: Miguel, Slightly Stoopid, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, MGMT, Walk the Moon, Nicky Jam, Don Omar, Vince Staples, Tyga and Lil Dicky. “Our goal with this lineup was to have it stacked from start to finish each day with great artists,” co-founder Paul Thornton states. “It’s hard to really call any certain bands our so-called headliners, as so many lines of bands on this festival are all headliners in their own right.”
Native Knowledge: Artist Miguel has partnered with Wonderfront and will be involved in creative activations, marketing, promoting and of course, performing! To facilitate creative conversations and opportunities in business, Miguel plans to host a think-tank dinner for a mix of world-renowned artists and leading entrepreneurs.
2 | Concerts for a Cause Wonderfront Festival San Diego
Not only will you be moving and grooving to some of the best artists in the world, Wonderfront has partnered with Guitar Legends 3 to bring talented guitarists and an All-Star Band to the stage on Nov 24th. In partnership with America Salutes You, the concert will be filmed live and broadcast as a holiday special that will help raise money for veterans and first responder charities. We can definitely say cheers to that!
3 | Mixed Media Performances—HuckJam Style Wonderfront Festival San Diego
Tony Hawk’s Boom Boom Huckjam Tour is back, baby! In the early 2000s, Boom Boom HuckJam Tour (choreographed and freestyle skating with live music) was the biggest, high-flying spectacle in action sports. Hawk is bringing the HuckJam ramp back for Wonderfront with bands like Pennywise, Suicidal Tendencies, DJ Z-Trip and some of the best professional vert skaters and BMX bikers in the world (including Hawk himself).
4 | Yacht Parties, Fun Zones and Water Activities
Want to listen to the amazing music from the water? We got you, fam. Wonderfront has partnered with Seaforth Rentals to offer paddleboards, kayaks and Jet Skis, so you can enjoy the festival from land or sea. Are yacht parties more your style? Wonderfront has also partnered with Flagship Cruises to offer parties on the sea each day and night. If you feel like sticking to solid ground, check out the festival’s game zone, complete with soccer, cornhole, Spikeball, ping-pong and much more.
5 | Cheers to Good Food and Delicious Drinks
Get your drink on! The festival grounds will feature some of San Diego’s best in food and drinks. Of course, since San Diego is the Craft Beer Capital of America, the festival will have a giant local craft beer village. Food vendors will be scattered along the festival for easy access, bringing classic SD snacks right into your hands. Wonderfront is the ultimate San Diego festival. Festival co-founder Ernie Hahn summarizes, “This event is for San Diego, by San Diego. All of San Diego and the greater Baja area are represented with the genres of music, food, art and experience Wonderfront will bring to the world.”
