Wine Tasting at The Hobbit
With daily sunshine against clear blue skies and flowers blooming in your neighborhood, it’s time to pack away your winter coat! Yes, spring has sprung, which means spending a warm spring day tasting a variety of refreshing wines with your friends!
Wine Tasting at The Hobbit
Don’t worry about hunting for your favorite wine—there will be about 40 wines available for tasting. Hors d’oeuvres prepared by Michael Philippi, owner and executive chef of The Hobbit, will be including menu favorites like their paté, artichoke dip, French sandwiches and many more!
Don’t Break the Bank
When all is said and done, wine-tasting trips can cost hundreds of dollars, while only offering a few interesting wines to try. At The Hobbit’s Spring Afternoon Wine Tasting, you’ll be able to taste a wide variety of wines and expertly crafted hors d’oeuvres for only $58 per person!
Do Some Good
When you buy a ticket to the tasting, you’ll not only be spending your Sunday afternoon tasting exquisite wines at The Hobbit’s beautiful location in Orange, but you’ll also be supporting a worthy cause. A portion of the afternoon’s proceeds will go directly to Alzheimer’s Orange County, an organization that provides free programs and services for local families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. “My mother had Alzheimer’s. I had partnered with Alzheimer’s OC to get information, and we decided when we were going to do our afternoon tasting it would be perfect to include Alzheimer’s OC. A portion of the ticket sales go to Alzheimer’s OC, and we will do a silent auction with different donated items, and then my wine vendors usually donate a magnum size bottle of wine to be auctioned off,” said Co-Owner Debra Philippi.
With all these wines to try, you’re bound to find at least one bottle, or two or three, that you’ll want to take home with you. Thankfully, The Hobbit is providing a special offer during the event that includes a discount on bottles of wine purchased throughout the afternoon. All you need to do is order your favorites at The Hobbit and pick them up from the restaurant when they’re ready! “We have 5 different vendors and we end up with 40 different wines and they’re all great. Vendors are donating time and their wine, so that customers can purchase the wine at a discounted price,” added Philippi.
