Kishi Bashi

An internationally revered violinist, singer-songwriter, and artist-activist, Kishi Bashi’s Musco Center performances and residencies in recent years have earned him a devoted following at Chapman University, in addition to his fans around the globe.

Kishi Bashi has recorded and toured the world with a diverse range of artists, including Regina Spektor, Sondre Lerche, and the indie rock band of Montreal. Before launching his solo career, he was the singer and founding member of the New York electronic rock outfit Jupiter One.

His Japanese-American heritage plays a central role in his music as he grapples with the complex histories and realities of the immigrant experience.
