Stop 1: Brunch at Malibu Farm

The first stop on your tour de Newport is one of our favorite waterfront restaurants, Malibu Farm. Hop tip: the secret alley has free two-hour parking spots; no validation needed. Grab a breakfast burrito, a smoothie bowl or an order of their signature Swedish mini pancakes and get to chowing. They also have a seriously good fried egg sandwich if you’re looking to get a little yolked.

Stop 2: Whip it on Down to The Wedge

The Wedge is an iconic shore break at the end of the Balboa Peninsula where veteran surfers and bodyboarders test their fate for the sake of getting barreled. Pop the top on your C-Class Cabriolet and coast through the quaint streets of iconic old-school Newport with the Balboa Fun Zone on your left and the boardwalk to your right. Find some street parking and hit the sand to watch the local surfers try their hand at hanging 10.

Stop 3: Spa Day at VEA Newport Beach

VEA Newport Beach is a newer hotel across from Fashion Island that boasts a popular poolside bar and a serene spa sanctuary. SPA VEA offers several different types of massages, facials and body treatments and an array of add-ons, enhancements and experiences to make your day of pampering absolute perfection. If you just want to enjoy the spa’s amenities without booking a treatment, SPA VEA offers day passes costing $50 during the week and $75 per person on weekends.

Stop 4: Lunch at Bear Flag Fish Co.

Once you’ve reached peak rest and relaxation, cruise the coast to Bear Flag Fish Co. in Crystal Cove. Sure, there’s one a little closer down at Lido Marina Village but that nice stretch of PCH will allow you to really see what that Mercedes engine can do. We recommend trying their famed ahi, salmon or octopus poke—make it a full on bowl or burrito if you’re feeling flirty.

Local Insight: Bear Flag has its own fishing boats and crew of fishermen, so you know your meal will be as fresh as it gets!

Stop 5: Take the Ferry to Balboa Island + Explore Marine Avenue

Credit: Balboa Island Ferry

It’s time to take your Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet to new marine heights with a foray across the ferry to explore Balboa Island. Balboa is like Newport’s baby; it’s a little slice of paradise that is loved and cherished by locals and visitors alike. The main drag, Marine Avenue, is filled with noteworthy pitstops like Huskins Coffee, Crocker’s and ETC. ETC., a women’s boutique that has had its doors open for over 40 years!

Final Stop: Sunset Views + Burgers and Milkshakes at Crystal Cove Shake Shack

We hope you saved room for dessert because we’ve saved the best for last! Soak in an iconic OC sunset with a trip south to Crystal Cove Shake Shack, an institution that whips up to-die-for milkshakes, burgers, fries and more. This is arguably the best spot in town to take in a sunset made even better with a delectable date shake.
