Mr. Stark, We’re Feeling A Little Bit Better Now

Written By: Priscilla Carcido Comic-Con 2018 San Diego

Comic-Con is back in town and all we can say is, it’s about time. This multi-genre convention celebrates everything from superheroes to the supernatural and even your favorite after-school special. From July 19 – 22, the San Diego Convention Center will be filled with stars and fans ready to mingle, meet and make some memories. Here are 11 reasons why you need to join in:

Comic-Con 2018 San Diego

Celebrate 10 Marvel-ous Years

There won’t be a major Hall-H panel for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but they certainly won’t be MIA from the weekend. MCU will be celebrating 10 years of superheros and villians at this year’s Comic-Con with smaller panels like the Making Comics the Marvel Way and Marvel Animation: Marvel Rising and 10th anniversary items.

Small Screen Stars, Big Time Spotlight

DC Comics has a major presence on the small screen and they’ll certainly make it known at Comic-Con. The casts of shows like “The Flash,” “Supergirl” and “Arrow” will be making an appearance at the convention to a crowd of screaming fans.

It’s Tons of Fun-ko

If you know anything about Comic-Con, you know how big of a deal Funko collectible figures are. Funko just revealed they will be dropping exclusive figures for “Game of Thrones” and “Stranger Things at this year’s Comic-Con. Dustin in his Snowball Dance outfit? We’re here for it.

There’s a New Doctor in Town

With Jodie Whittaker taking on the role of the iconic Doctor Who (and being the first female to do so!), her first appearance at Comic-Con is kind of a big deal. She will be joined by co-stars Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill and showrunner Chris Chibnall on July 19 ahead of the season premiere this fall on BBC America.

Not All Heroes Wear Capes…

Not into the superheroes? Comic-Con has you covered! There will be panels from the casts of “Castle Rock,” “Supernatural” and “Riverdale” for your inner fangirl or fanboy. For all the “Big Bang Theory” fans, the writers of the show will have their very own panel to talk about the latest season of the hit show.

More Momoa, Please

The release of the first Aquaman trailer is set to premiere at Comic-Con this year. We got a lil’ taste of Aquaman in the Justice League movie earlier this year, but it’s about time he gets his own spotlight. Anticipated to be one of DC Comics’ major superhero films, the movie stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Amber Heard as Mera.

This Reunion is Cooking Up a Sensation

Calling all “Breaking Bad” fans: this panel is for you! On July 19, AMC is hosting a reunion panel to celebrate 10-years of the hit series. Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, R. J. Mitte, Bob Odenkirk, and Giancarlo Esposito will be talking about their times on set and favorite memories from the show. If Walter White’s going to be there, you definitely have to be.

Millennial Memories

If “Rugrats”, “Recess” or “Hey Arnold!” hold any sentimentality for you, the We Wrote Your Childhood panel is totally calling your name. The writers and creators of some of our favorite childhood shows will be talking about the characters, stories and moments that only ‘90s kids will get.

Get Artsy

The costumes and characters that make an appearance at Comic-Con are always a total treat. From Wonder Woman to Tina Belcher from “Bob’s Burgers,” some fans go all out and you’ll be inspired to start your costume for next year’s convention.
