Alfresco Dining

Designed with the hungry traveler in mind, Old Town La Quinta is home to an exquisite alfresco dining scene that’ll satisfy your cravings from breakfast to dinner. Between the sun-soaked patios and seasonal menus, it’s easy to embrace the fall season during meal times. For those looking for a morning or afternoon pick-me-up, head to Main Street Coffee, where you can enjoy a seasonal latte or pastry on their shady patio. We also love YES PLEASE Café & Dessert Shop because they serve brunch all day and have a peaceful, umbrella-dotted courtyard!

For a trip back in time, make your way over to DSRT Club, one of the hottest new restaurants in La Quinta! Reminiscent of old supper clubs from a bygone era, this retro outpost draws inspiration from the historic surroundings of the Coachella Valley. The crispy branzino is a best-seller, along with the Lucy Collins and Bee Sting cocktails. These are all best enjoyed on the quaint streetside patio under the misters. Other great alfresco dining options in Old Town La Quinta include TQLAS Agave Bar & Grill for margs and Mexican eats, The Grill on Main for classic American fare and La Quinta Brewing Co. for craft brews. You can also dine outside at RD RNNR and Stuft Pizza Bar & Grill, which are both family-friendly spots and great for catching an NFL game!

Art on Main Street

It would be impossible to separate Old Town La Quinta from its parent city’s thriving cultural arts scene. The land on which the city of La Quinta now rests was once inhabited by native Cahuilla tribes who preserved their history through basketry, ceramics, singing and dancing—traditions still alive and flourishing today through Art on Main. This seasonal art exhibition in Old Town La Quinta showcases the creative talents of over 100 world-class artists from around the nation. Colorful booths displaying paintings, jewelry, mixed media, ceramics and more will cover the main square of town on Nov. 30 and Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Not only is it the perfect solution to that blank space in your home, but it’s a great way to connect with diverse cultures over the artistic craftsmanship of creatives from far and wide. Don’t miss this fall event!

Farmers Market Freshness

Summer squash is out, and pumpkins are in! The start of fall not only signals the return of the beloved PSL, but it also means an abundance of fall produce. Few things are more wholesome than grabbing your market tote and hitting the farmers market on Main. Peruse the selection of produce locally sourced from family-owned farms within 100 miles of the Coachella Valley. Held every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., this market displays everything from fall florals and artisan kitchen goods to farm-fresh meal prep items for those autumn harvest bowls. Every quintessential farmers market trip has to begin with fresh blooms from Blossoms. Then, grab a pastry (or three) from Chaupain’s artisan bread booth. Round out your visit with a freshly pressed green juice to quench your thirst.

Fall Fest

Good things will be brewing at La Quinta Brewing Company on Oct. 20 in celebration of Old Town La Quinta’s annual Fall Fest. This brewery is debuting its newest beer, Desertfest, and if the craft brews don’t draw you in, we’re sure the bratwurst, Bavarian pretzels and smoked gouda sauce will! You’ll also want to head to the village’s event lawn for live music, dancing and photo ops—and the pretzels! Be swift about it, though, as the event lasts from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Plus, the local pumpkin patch will only be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.!
