Long Beach Fourth of July 2026: Three Fireworks Shows

Three Fireworks Shows, One Epic Coastline and a Whole Week of Reasons to Show Up

Long Beach Fourth of July 2026 is about to rewrite everything you thought you knew about Independence Day in Southern California. This isn’t the usual routine of staking out a patch of sand and hoping for the best. This year, the LBC is doing something the city has never seen before.

Sea to Shining LBC is Long Beach’s week-long celebration of America’s 250th birthday, culminating in three free synchronized fireworks shows on Saturday, July 4, 2026. The citywide event includes Olympic sport previews, waterfront parties and Long Beach’s most ambitious coastal fireworks display ever. At 9 p.m., the whole coast looks up at once. No tickets required, no gates to fight. Just you, the sky and the most spectacular stretch of waterfront in California.

Long Beach will host three Olympic preview events before July 4 as part of an LA28 preview week.

Catch a kitesurfing showcase at Granada Beach all week, a beach sprint coastal rowing tournament at Marine Stadium on June 27–28 and a water polo showcase on Alamitos Bay July 1-2. Five-time Olympian and silver medalist Tony Azevedo leads the water polo event, bringing the sport back to the bay where local kids have always played ahead of the 2028 Games. It’s a preview of what’s coming, and a reminder that Long Beach has been the backdrop for athletic greatness all along.

Beyond the Olympic previews, the Fourth itself delivers nonstop options.

The Queen Mary is throwing a full-day party you’d be foolish to miss. Cheers to 250 Years! runs from 3 to 10 p.m. on July 4, filling the historic ship with live music across multiple genres, tribute bands, DJs, themed entertainment zones, strolling performers, interactive games and classic American food and drinks. A WWII aircraft flyover honoring the ship’s wartime legacy adds a memorable moment before the night builds to its finale: fireworks launching directly from the ship’s stern at 9 p.m. Guests can choose between general admission or an enhanced VIP experience with access to exclusive lounges and premium fireworks viewing. History and a hangover? You’ll earn both.

If you’d rather watch from the water with a cocktail in hand, Long Beach delivers excellent cruise options. Harbor Breeze Cruises departs at 7:45 p.m. from Dock 2 at 100 Aquarium Way on July 4, giving guests a front-row view of the fireworks from the water. City Cruises will host a three-hour dinner cruise from Dock 6A at 100 Aquarium Way, including a full bar, chef-prepared buffet and a DJ. Both options turn the fireworks into a full evening. Spirit Cruises will set sail out of Shoreline Village at 7:30 p.m. for a sightseeing tour of the harbor before returning for the 9 p.m. fireworks show. Their fireworks cruise also features a cash bar.

And yes, being on the water while three simultaneous shows light up the sky above you is as magical as it sounds.

At The Maya, enjoy poolside entertainment, festive dining and front-row views of the fireworks. The resort will offer a family-friendly celebration on its pool deck, while its restaurant Fuego will host live DJ entertainment, a special menu, and VIP fire pits with bottle service.

HALO at Fairmont Breakers is hosting its Red, White & Halo Fourth of July party with specialty cocktails, Chef Paul’s featured BBQ selections and a live set by DJ Resolution. The 21-plus event is first-come, first-served, and hotel guests receive 50% off admission for two with proof of stay. Arrive early because the view will not disappoint.

For those who want to keep it free and breezy (pun intended), the coastline delivers. Prime viewing spots line the shore from downtown to Belmont Shore. Lions Lighthouse, Shoreline Village, The Bluff, Belmont Pier and Granada Beach all offer front-row access to the show with zero cost of admission. Beach lots and street parking fill by late afternoon on July 4, so it’s worth building in extra time. Pack a blanket, bring snacks and settle in. The show runs about 20 minutes and is entirely worth the real estate.

Long Beach has always had the coastline for this. It has the history, the Olympic waters and the local legends. This year, it finally has the celebration to match. Sea to Shining LBC isn’t just a Fourth of July party. It’s a declaration. The most iconic stretch of coast in SoCal is ready for its moment, and you should absolutely be there for it.
